Role Purpose The Civil Head will be responsible for leading and managing all civil construction activities across the assigned project, ensuring timely execution, quality, safety, cost control, and compliance with approved engineering specifications and project schedules.

The role requires strong leadership and hands-on experience in large-scale industrial, infrastructure, commercial, or EPC projects, with the ability to coordinate effectively with engineering, procurement, contractors, consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage all civil construction activities from mobilization through project completion and handover.
- Develop and monitor detailed construction plans, schedules, resource requirements, and execution strategies.
- Ensure civil works are executed in accordance with approved drawings,

specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.
- Coordinate with engineering and design teams to resolve technical issues and ensure timely availability of construction drawings.
- Manage civil contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and site teams to achieve project milestones.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and take corrective actions for delays or deviations.
- Ensure effective manpower, machinery, material, and equipment planning and utilization.
- Review and control project costs, productivity, wastage, and resource consumption.
- Ensure quality control and implementation of approved QA/QC procedures for all civil works.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, approvals, and documentation with the

QA/QC team and consultants/client representatives.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements, safety procedures, and statutory regulations at the project site.
- Identify construction risks, constraints, and potential delays and develop mitigation plans.
- Conduct regular site reviews and progress meetings with contractors and internal stakeholders.




- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams to ensure timely availability of construction materials.
- Review contractor bills, measurements, variations, and work completion documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation of as-built drawings, test reports, inspection records, and project handover documents.
- Support commercial and contractual teams in managing claims, variations,

and contractor performance.
- Drive productivity improvement, cost optimization, and adoption of efficient construction methodologies.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, senior management, and other project functions.
- Lead project completion, snag resolution, commissioning support, and final handover activities.

Project Execution: Timely completion of civil works in accordance with approved project schedules.

Quality: Compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, approved drawings, and inspection requirements.

Cost: Effective control of construction costs, productivity, wastage, and contractor performance.

Safety: Zero-tolerance approach toward unsafe practices and strong implementation of site HSE systems.

People Management: Effective leadership of civil engineers, supervisors,

contractors, and site execution teams.

Stakeholder Management: Strong coordination with clients, consultants,

contractors, engineering, procurement, commercial, and management teams.

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- A postgraduate qualification in Construction Management / Project

Management will be an advantage.
- Typically 15+ years of relevant experience in civil construction/project execution, preferably in EPC, industrial, infrastructure, power,



steel,

manufacturing, or large-scale construction projects.
- Proven experience in managing large project teams and multiple civil contractors.
- Strong experience in foundations, RCC structures, structural works, roads,

drainage, buildings, underground utilities, and other industrial/infrastructure civil works, as applicable to the project.
- Experience in project planning, cost control, quality management, and contractor management.

- Solid communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Primavera P6 / MS Project and relevant construction software will be an advantage.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and result orientation.

Preferred Candidate Profile A seasoned civil construction professional with strong site execution and leadership experience, capable of independently managing large civil packages/projects and leading multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, cost, productivity, and timely project delivery.
