Position

Senior Chartered Accountant – Finance & Accounts

Experience

10+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably in an infrastructure, construction, EPC, real estate, or project-based organization.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant to lead the Finance & Accounts function for our infrastructure business. The role will be responsible for financial planning and control, project accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, cash-flow management, audits, banking, MIS, and financial risk management.

The candidate should have strong experience in managing finance operations for large-scale infrastructure/construction projects and should be capable of working closely with the promoters, management, project teams, banks, auditors, consultants, and statutory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounts

- Lead the overall Finance & Accounts function of the organization.
- Ensure accurate and timely accounting, month-end/year-end closing, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and present monthly MIS, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Establish and strengthen financial controls, accounting processes, and SOPs.
- Monitor project-wise profitability, costs, margins, and financial performance.
- Ensure proper accounting of project expenses, revenue, WIP, retention, advances, and contract-related transactions.

Project & Infrastructure Finance
- Monitor project budgets, actual costs, commitments, and cost-to-completion.
- Analyze project-wise cash flows, profitability, and working-capital requirements.
- Review project costing, variations, claims, escalation, retention money, and receivables.




- Work closely with project and commercial teams to identify cost overruns and financial risks.
- Support evaluation of new projects, tenders, contracts, and major investments.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Oversee direct and indirect taxation matters, including Income Tax, GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and payments.
- Manage tax assessments, notices, litigation, and coordination with tax consultants.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, Companies Act requirements, and other regulatory requirements.

Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, GST, and other audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and risk-management systems.
- Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

Banking & Working Capital
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Oversee working-capital facilities, project finance, guarantees, LC/BG requirements, and banking documentation.
- Monitor cash flows, fund utilization, receivables, payables, and debt obligations.
- Optimize working capital and ensure adequate liquidity for ongoing projects.

Management & Strategic Finance
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the senior management/promoters.
- Support business planning, budgeting,



forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate financial implications of contracts, investments, acquisitions, and business expansion.
- Develop financial dashboards and KPIs for management review.
- Drive automation and process improvements across the finance function.

Candidate Profile

Qualification

- Chartered Accountant (CA) – ICAI mandatory.

Experience
- 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Preferably from Infrastructure / Construction / EPC / Real Estate / Project-based industries.
- Experience in handling finance for multiple projects and large-scale operations will be preferred.
- Strong exposure to taxation, audits, banking, project accounting, and working-capital management.

The candidate should be comfortable managing a large finance function, handling multiple projects, interacting with senior management and external stakeholders, and taking ownership of the company's financial discipline and compliance.
