Chief Financial Officer

Reporting: Promoters

Job Location: Mumbai

Role Purpose The CFO will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial leadership as the organisation enters its next phase of growth.

The role will go beyond traditional accounting and controllership. The CFO will act as a strategic financial partner to the promoter leadership, providing financial insights and strategic direction across project feasibility, capital allocation, cash-flow planning, funding, project finance, taxation, risk management, governance and business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership

- Act as a strategic advisor to the MD and promoter leadership on business decisions, investments, project launches and capital allocation.
- Develop financial scenarios, forecasts and models to support strategic decision-making.
- Establish financial frameworks that balance growth, profitability, liquidity and risk.
- Provide leadership with clear insights on project-wise profitability, cash generation and return on capital.

2. Real Estate Project Finance & Financial Planning

- Lead financial evaluation and structuring of new real estate projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use and redevelopment formats.
- Review project feasibility, IRR, ROI, cash-flow profiles, funding requirements and sensitivity scenarios.
- Establish robust project-wise financial models and monitoring mechanisms.
- Partner with project development, sales, legal and business teams to ensure financial viability of projects.

3. Cash Flow, Treasury & Capital Management

- Own the company's overall cash-flow strategy and liquidity management.




- Develop rolling cash-flow forecasts covering project-level and corporate requirements.
- Optimise the timing and deployment of capital across projects.
- Ensure adequate liquidity for land, construction, statutory, operational and project-related commitments.
- Monitor project collections, receivables, debt servicing and cash conversion.

4. Financial Reporting & Management Information Systems

- Oversee P&L;, balance sheet, cash-flow and project-level financial reporting.
- Develop project-wise and business-wise performance metrics.
- Provide timely insights on revenue recognition, margins, cash flows, costs and financial exposure.
- Present financial performance and key business insights to the Board/promoter leadership.

5. Governance, Controls & Risk Management

- Strengthen the company's internal control framework as the business scales.
- Identify and proactively manage financial, project, regulatory, tax and operational risks.
- Lead internal and statutory audit processes.
- Ensure financial integrity, transparency and adherence to governance standards.

6. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

- Oversee direct and indirect taxation matters, including Income Tax, GST, TDS and other applicable regulations.
- Ensure timely statutory compliance and minimise tax-related risks.

Corporate Finance & Strategic Transactions

- Evaluate opportunities for joint ventures, strategic partnerships, investments, land transactions and potential acquisitions.
- Lead financial due diligence and transaction structuring.
- Support the promoters/MD on strategic capital allocation decisions.
- Build relationships with financial institutions, investors, advisors and other strategic stakeholders.

8. Finance Transformation & Systems

- Build a contemporary, scalable and technology-enabled finance function.
- Strengthen ERP, MIS, business intelligence and financial reporting systems.
- Drive automation of financial processes and controls.
- Improve data visibility across projects and business functions.
- Establish dashboards providing real-time visibility into project financial performance, liquidity and key KPIs.
- Ensure the finance function can support the organisation's increasing scale and complexity.
- Represent the company's financial interests in strategic negotiations.

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory
- Additional qualifications such as CFA may be an advantage.

Experience

- 18-25 years of overall experience, with substantial experience in senior finance leadership roles.
- Ideally 5+ years as CFO / Finance Director / Head of Finance / equivalent leadership position.
- Strong experience in Real Estate Industries.
- Should have experience managing complex project finance, treasury, taxation, financial planning and corporate finance.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and large development pipelines will be advantageous.
