About the RoleMEICON is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD and BIM Draftsman to support civil, structural, bridge, and transit-oriented projects in the United States.

The selected candidate will develop 2D technical drawings and 3D BIM models, prepare construction documentation, and support multidisciplinary model coordination. The role requires hands-on experience with MicroStation CONNECT 3D, OpenBuildings Designer, and Common Data Environment platforms such as ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop accurate CAD drawings and BIM models in accordance with project specifications, client standards, and applicable codes.
- Produce medium- to complex-level 3D models for civil, structural, bridge, and transit-oriented infrastructure.
- Prepare general arrangement drawings, reinforced-concrete details, structural-steel details, schedules, plans, profiles, cross-sections, and construction details.
- Develop models and drawings for bridges, foundations, retaining walls, utilities, transit facilities, supporting structures, and associated civil works.
- Extract drawings, schedules, setting-out information, quantities, and other deliverables directly from BIM models.
- Convert engineering markups, sketches, survey information, and design inputs into accurate technical drawings and coordinated models.




- Prepare existing-condition, demolition, proposed-work, construction-phasing, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate CAD drawings and BIM models across civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
- Assist in developing and implementing BIM Execution Plans, project workflows, model standards, and information-management procedures.
- Create and maintain federated multidisciplinary models.
- Conduct clash-detection reviews, identify coordination issues, and assist project teams in tracking them through resolution.
- Ensure models comply with agreed levels of development, naming conventions, file structures, model requirements, and client standards.
- Incorporate engineering reviews, client comments, RFIs, design changes, and field information into drawings and models.
- Maintain drawing and model registers, revision histories, version control, and structured project files.
- Work within Common Data Environment platforms such as ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Perform quality checks to ensure drawings and models are accurate, coordinated, complete, and ready for submission.
- Participate in BIM-coordination meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions with India- and U.S.-based project teams.
- Support quantity take-offs and material schedules using drawings and BIM models.
- Follow MEICON’s quality, safety, environmental, and document-management procedures.

Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant CAD drafting and BIM modelling experience.
- Experience supporting civil infrastructure, metro rail,



or transit-oriented projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in MicroStation CONNECT 3D is required.
- Practical experience with OpenBuildings Designer is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
- Experience using ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or a similar Common Data Environment.
- Experience preparing general arrangement, bridge, reinforced-concrete, reinforcement, and structural-steel detailing drawings.
- Ability to create coordinated BIM models and extract accurate 2D documentation from them.
- Experience with federated models, multidisciplinary coordination, and clash detection.
- Familiarity with Bentley iTwin or other Bentley cloud services is beneficial.
- Experience with Revit Structures, Navisworks, and 3D reinforced-concrete detailing is an added advantage.
- Understanding of BIM Execution Plans, model coordination requirements, drawing standards, and information-management workflows.
- Familiarity with applicable American drafting, design, and construction standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, technical markups, and survey information.
- Strong knowledge of sheet preparation, title blocks, annotations, CAD templates, drawing registers, and revision control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet demanding project deadlines.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- The ideal candidate is a civil CAD and BIM professional with practical experience using the Bentley design ecosystem for major infrastructure projects. The candidate should be capable of developing accurate technical drawings and coordinated 3D models while supporting BIM execution, clash detection, quality control, and multidisciplinary coordination.
