Business Development Representative (BDR)

Location: India / Remote

Company: 52east.co

Role type: Full time

Experience: 0–3 years

Focus: B2B SaaS / HR Tech / AI

About 52east

52east.co is building an AI-powered hiring platform for companies that recruit at scale.

Our AI can

- Conduct structured candidate interviews automatically
- Run realistic roleplays, such as an angry customer, sales prospect, or support scenario
- Evaluate candidates against role-specific scorecards
- Integrate directly with existing ATS/HRMS workflows

We are currently piloting with multiple leading companies and expanding across high-volume hiring teams. We are a small founding team, so this is not a traditional BDR role where you receive a list and make 100 calls.

You will help us figure out who we should sell to, why they should care, and how we consistently get meetings with them.

What you'll do1. Find the right companies

Research companies that have

- High-volume hiring
- Large customer support / sales teams
- High employee churn
- Distributed recruiting teams
- Frequent hiring for SDR, customer service, operations or similar roles

Our current ICP experiments include:
- BPOs / contact centers
- Staffing & recruitment firms
- Insurance / insurtech
- High-volume sales organizations
- Other companies hiring hundreds or thousands of people

1. Find the right people

Identify decision makers such as:
- Head / VP of Talent Acquisition
- CHRO / Head of HR
- Head of Recruitment
- Head of Operations
- L&D; leaders
- CX / Customer Support leaders
- Founders and CEOs at smaller companies

You'll research the person before reaching out rather than blindly blasting sequences.
1. Run outbound

You'll own outreach across:
- LinkedIn
- Cold email
- Follow-ups

- Warm introductions
- Occasionally phone / WhatsApp where appropriate

You'll write short, highly personalized outreach based on the company's actual hiring problems.
1. Experiment constantly

We don't yet have a 50-page sales playbook. You'll help create it.

You'll test things like

- BPO vs staffing vs insurance
- CHRO vs TA Head vs Operations
- AI interview pitch vs roleplay pitch
- LinkedIn vs email
- Different hooks and CTAs
- Newly funded companies vs established enterprises

You'll track: Prospects → Outreach → Replies → Positive Replies → Demos → Pilots → Customers The expectation is not just "send more messages."

It's to figure out what actually works.

1. Build pipeline with the founders

You'll work directly with the founders to:
- Research strategic accounts
- Prepare highly targeted outreach
- Book demos
- Research prospects before calls
- Follow up after demos
- Maintain our CRM / pipeline
- Identify patterns from wins and losses

As we learn what works, you'll also help automate parts of the research and outbound workflow using AI and sales tools.

What we're looking for

You should be

- Extremely good at internet research
- Comfortable spending significant time on LinkedIn
- Able to write concise English
- Curious about why someone responded or didn't respond

- Comfortable experimenting instead of blindly following a script
- Persistent with follow-ups without becoming spammy
- Comfortable working in an early-stage environment where the playbook is still being built

You do not need years of SaaS sales experience. Strong research ability, communication and hunger matter more.

You'd be particularly strong for this role if

- You've worked as a BDR / SDR before
- You've sold SaaS, HR tech or recruitment products
- You've used LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Clay or similar tools
- You enjoy researching companies before contacting them
- You understand recruiting / talent acquisition
- You've done founder-led or early-stage sales
- You're comfortable using AI heavily in your workflow

What success looks like In your first few months, we want you to help us:
- Build a repeatable list of high-quality target accounts
- Identify which ICP converts best
- Consistently start conversations with senior buyers
- Generate qualified demos every week
- Build a structured follow-up system
- Turn our founder-led outbound experiments into a repeatable sales motion

Why join now This is an unusually early role.

You won't be BDR #47 executing somebody else's playbook.

You'll work directly with the founders while we determine how 52east goes from its first enterprise pilots to a repeatable GTM engine.

If we get this right, you'll have helped build the sales motion from the beginning.

How to apply

Email [email protected] with a short note explaining why you think you'd be a good fit for this role .

No generic cover letter needed. Tell us why this role interests you, why you think you'd be good at it, and anything you've done that demonstrates it.
