Role & responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Embedded MATLAB Developer to design, develop, and integrate Diagnostic Services (UDS - ISO 14229) on OpenECU platforms for automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The candidate will be responsible for implementing diagnostic communication, software download capabilities, calibration support, and vehicle network diagnostics using Model-Based Development (MBD) methodologies. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in MATLAB/Simulink, automotive diagnostics, CAN communication, and embedded software development throughout the V-cycle.
Transfer Exit (0x37) o Tester Present (0x3E)
- Configure and implement Diagnostic Identifiers (DIDs), Data Records, and fault memory access.
- Implement seed-key based security mechanisms and access control levels. Model-Based Development
- Develop diagnostic logic using MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow.
• Generate production-quality code using Embedded Coder
- Create reusable diagnostic software architectures and libraries.
- Integrate diagnostic models into OpenECU application framework.
- Support Auto-Code generation and integration activities. OpenECU Integration
- Configure OpenECU hardware and software environments.
- Integrate generated code into OpenECU runtime frameworks.
- Develop ECU applications supporting diagnostics, calibration, and flashing requirements.
- Support bootloader and application-level diagnostic interfaces. Vehicle Network Communication
- Implement diagnostics over: o CAN o UDS on CAN (ISO 15765) o DoIP (preferred)
- Analyze CAN traces and debug protocol-level communication.
• Configure communication matrices and diagnostic databases. Verification & Validation
- Develop diagnostic test cases and validation procedures
- Perform SIL, MIL, and HIL testing.
- Validate UDS communication using Vector tools.
- Analyze diagnostic logs and troubleshoot protocol issues.
Support software release and production readiness testing. Documentation
- Create software design documentation.
- Prepare diagnostic specifications and interface definitions.
- Develop test reports, traceability matrices, and review artifacts.
- Ensure compliance with ASPICE and ISO 26262 processes where applicable. Required Qualifications Education
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in: o Electronics Engineering o Electrical Engineering o Automotive Engineering o Embedded Systems o Computer Engineering Experience
- 3-8 years of experience in Automotive Embedded Software Development.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Automotive Diagnostics (UDS).
- Experience with Model-Based Development using MATLAB/Simulink. • Experience working with OpenECU platforms is highly desirable. Technical Skills Mandatory Skills Automotive Diagnostics
