Role Description The Asst. Manager – Freight Forwarding Documentation role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The role involves overseeing export and import documentation for ocean freight shipments, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and adherence to customer and carrier requirements.

Daily responsibilities include preparing and validating shipping documents, coordinating with customers, carriers, and internal teams, monitoring shipment status, and resolving documentation-related issues. The role also includes supporting process improvements, maintaining documentation standards,



and providing guidance to junior team members to ensure smooth freight forwarding operations.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries, provide updates, and manage expectations professionally.
- Hands-on experience with ocean freight operations, including documentation and coordination with shipping lines.
- Solid understanding of import procedures, documentation requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Solid understanding of export procedures, documentation requirements, and international trade regulations.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in freight forwarding, preferably in documentation-focused roles.
- Only candidates currently based in Mumbai and able to work on-site will be considered.
- Solid attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and freight forwarding/ERP systems; familiarity with international shipping terms (Incoterms) is an advantage.
- Relevant diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
