Associate - Trust - In
Trust Operations Associate is responsible for supporting the operational aspects of trust administration within a financial institution or trust company. This role involves performing administrative tasks, processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to facilitate productive trust operations.
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Record-Keeping and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of trust transactions, account activities, and client communications.
- Client Service and Support: Provide timely and accurate information to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
- Process Improvement and Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency within trust operations.
- transactions for suspicious activities and escalate issues as necessary.
- Provides administrative Trust support to Trust Specialists and Lead Trust Specialist.
- Scans, files, documents incoming correspondence as well as prepare outbound mailings.
- Participates in a variety of centralized operational trust activities including processing routine to moderately complex transactions or reconciliations.
- Responsive to needs of Wealth Advisors, Portfolio Managers, clients (occasional interactions) and other key business partners.
- Validates that all policy, procedural, standards, and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
- Updates wealth management/Trust databases, maintains client records and conducts ad-hoc research or project assignments as requested by management team.
- Maintains an active role in monitoring operational matters, including Trust account service activities, and assisting with resolving client service issues as needed.
- Reviews documentation and ensure adequate and properly executed documents are received to open/fund/maintain/close accounts.
- Responsible for the accuracy of transactions either initiated by the client or business partners.
Educational Requirements
- University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience
- 2+ Years Required; 3+ Years Preferred
- 7-10 years of trust administration or fiduciary services experience
- Knowledge of trust taxation and accounting principles
- Proficiency in trust administration systems and advanced Excel
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience with trust administration platforms (SEI, Fiserv)
- Process improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma)
