Position overview:

the^delta Prize is looking for a sharp generalist to join our product function — the team behind the research, design and institutional memory that underpins every grand challenge the^delta runs, across Climate Futures, Future of Women in Work, and Micro-Enterprise Futures. This is a research and design-support role, not a single-challenge operating role. You'll move across themes simultaneously — research, documentation, MEL, and programme design support — rather than owning the delivery of any one challenge.

We are looking for someone who:

- Thinks in first principles: can argue a position with real reasoning, and is willing to self-interrogate rather than defend a position for its own sake
- Can research fast and well: gets to the bottom of a topic quickly, and pushes past the "what" to the "why"




- Understands and plays with technology: an AI power user, comfortable vibe-coding if the task calls for it
- Has done professional work before, and knows what quality looks like and how to raise the bar on it
- Is systematic: manages documentation and process rigorously, not as an afterthought
- Is comfortable with decks and content: can turn research into a brief, a synthesis note, or a sharp slide
- This could fit a strong generalist from research, strategy, consulting or programme design, or a founder-adjacent operator, looking to apply that range to India-scale problems.
- 2–3 years of experience in high-performing, intrapreneurial set-ups; a graduate or postgraduate degree, ideally research-adjacent, social science, or development-focused.

Key filter: We are specifically looking for candidates who can demonstrate independent, rigorous research and structured documentation, not just familiarity with these skills. Comfort with ambiguity and multiple concurrent workstreams is essential.

- A graduate or postgraduate degree — an added bonus if in a research-adjacent, social science, or development field
- 1–4 years of work experience in high-performing set-ups and intrapreneurial roles
- Demonstrated research skills, ideally across both secondary research and primary data collection
- Comfort with MEL frameworks, or a strong willingness to build this skill
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to structure research into clear
- documentation
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Comfort working from the office (based out of Bangalore)
- Written and spoken fluency in English; other languages are a bonus
- Willingness to travel as required for field research
- Comfort with nonprofit sector salaries
