About the Role
Joshiz is looking for an Associate, Strategy & Investments to support investment evaluation, portfolio company initiatives, business research, and strategic projects across the organization.
This is a generalist role for someone who wants exposure to how businesses are evaluated, built, operated, acquired, and scaled.
You will work on projects such as researching new markets, evaluating investment and acquisition opportunities, analyzing portfolio company performance, building financial models, preparing leadership presentations, and supporting strategic initiatives.
The role combines strategy, investing, research, and operations. You will work across industries and business models, often tackling questions with no predefined answer.
As you grow, you will take on increasing responsibility for owning projects and working directly with portfolio companies, founders, operators, and leadership.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Investment
Research and evaluate potential investments, acquisitions, partnerships, and new business opportunities.
Conduct market, industry, company, and competitive research.
Analyze business models, financial performance, growth opportunities, and key risks.
Build financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
Support investment evaluation and due diligence.
Prepare investment analyses, opportunity assessments, and strategic recommendations.
Monitor relevant markets, companies, competitors, and industry developments.
Portfolio Company Support
Support strategic and operational projects across portfolio companies.
Analyze revenue, margins, customer metrics, operating performance, and other key business indicators.
Develop KPI dashboards and performance reports.
Identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and process improvement.
Support initiatives involving pricing, market expansion, partnerships, operations, and go-to-market strategy.
Work with portfolio company teams to execute strategic priorities.
Business Research
Conduct structured research across new and existing industries.
Evaluate market size, customer dynamics, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.
Identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.
Build market maps, company databases, and research repositories.
Synthesize information from financial statements, industry reports, public filings,
company materials, databases, and other sources.
Business Building
Research opportunities for launching or acquiring new businesses.
Support business plans, financial models, and go-to-market strategies.
Evaluate new business concepts and commercial opportunities.
Help identify attractive markets and underserved customer segments.
Support founders and operators in turning ideas into structured business opportunities.
Leadership & Special Projects
Prepare presentations, reports, dashboards, and strategic memos for leadership.
Support high-priority projects across Joshiz and its portfolio.
Coordinate with founders, executives, operators, advisors, and external partners.
Track project milestones, KPIs, and deliverables.
Take ownership of assigned projects from research and analysis through execution.
Support additional strategic initiatives as priorities evolve.
Qualifications
2–5 years of relevant professional experience in consulting, strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, corporate development, business operations, entrepreneurship, or a high-growth company.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or another analytical discipline.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working with financial statements, business metrics, and financial models.
Strong understanding of business fundamentals, including revenue, margins, unit economics, cash flow, and growth.
Strong research and information-synthesis abilities.
Ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop practical recommendations.
Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
Strong presentation and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate strategy,
or corporate development.
Experience evaluating investments, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships.
Experience working with founders, CEOs, or senior executives.
Experience supporting portfolio companies or operating businesses.
Experience with financial modeling and company valuation.
Experience with market sizing and competitive analysis.
Entrepreneurial or startup experience.
Familiarity with research and investment platforms such as PitchBook, Crunchbase, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, or similar tools.

Compensation
₹12,00,000–₹24,00,000 per annum
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, analytical capabilities, and relevant experience in strategy, investing, consulting, operations, or entrepreneurship.
Work Arrangement
Full-time | Remote | Mumbai, Maharashtra, India The Associate will work closely with Joshiz leadership, portfolio company teams, founders, operators, and external partners. Reasonable flexibility may be required when collaborating with stakeholders across different locations and time zones.
