Associate Designer | Unispace
Mumbai, India | Workplace Design | Corporate Interiors
Design workplaces people actually want to be in.
We’re Unispace — a global strategy, design and construction business creating workplaces for some of the world’s most recognisable brands.
Across 48 studios globally, we bring strategy, design and delivery together under one roof. That means our designers don’t simply create concepts and hand them over. They help shape projects from the first conversation through to the finished space.
And as we continue to grow our presence and design capability in Mumbai, we’re looking for an Associate Designer to become a senior creative force within the team.
This is more than a senior design role.
You’ll take ownership of complex workplace projects, lead the creative direction, build relationships with clients and help develop the designers around you.
You’ll be involved from concept through to construction — understanding the brief, challenging it where needed, developing the design story, presenting to clients and making sure the original vision survives all the way through delivery.
One day you could be presenting a concept to a major client. The next, mentoring designers, reviewing technical details, coordinating with MEP and specialist consultants or walking a live site.
You’ll have genuine ownership of the work.
What you'll be doing
- Leading high-quality corporate workplace and commercial interior projects from concept to completion
- Creating spaces that balance brilliant design with how people genuinely use and experience them
- Becoming a trusted design partner to clients and confidently presenting to senior stakeholders
- Leading and mentoring junior designers and helping raise the creative standard of the wider team
- Working side-by-side with our construction, commercial and multidisciplinary consultant teams
- Owning design programmes, deliverables, budgets and key project milestones
- Developing and reviewing technical documentation, detailing, materials and FF&E;
- Staying involved through construction to protect the design intent and solve problems on site
- Bringing fresh ideas, materials and thinking into the Mumbai studio.
Who we're looking for
You’ll probably have 10+ years within interior design or architecture, with a significant part of that career spent designing corporate workplaces and commercial interiors.
You’re not simply someone who can create a beautiful concept. You know how to get it built.
You can lead projects, manage clients, mentor designers and still get into the detail when required.
And importantly, you’re highly proficient in Revit. This is a hands-on design leadership position, so strong Revit capability is essential.
You’ll also bring strong experience across technical detailing, construction documentation, FF&E;, material specification and managing projects through the realities of programme, budget and delivery.
Why Unispace?
Because you'll get the scale and opportunity of a global business without becoming another designer buried inside a huge traditional architecture practice.
Our model brings strategy, design and construction together, giving designers visibility and influence across the entire life of a project.
You'll work on ambitious workplaces for major global organisations, collaborate with colleagues across our 48 studios worldwide, and have the opportunity to play a genuinely significant role in the continued growth of our Mumbai team.
If you’ve spent your career creating brilliant workplaces and you're ready to have a bigger voice in what gets designed, how it gets delivered and how the next generation of designers develops — we want to hear from you.
Come build what’s next with Unispace in Mumbai.
