Role Description The Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering will engage in full-time, in office teaching, research, and academic service at IET BHADDAL TECHNICAL CAMPUS in the Mohali district. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering undergraduate and, where applicable, postgraduate courses in electrical engineering, preparing lesson plans and instructional materials, conducting laboratory sessions, and mentoring learners through projects and assignments.
The role involves developing and updating course content to align with current industry and academic standards, evaluating learner performance through assessments, and maintaining accurate academic records.
The Assistant
Professor will be expected to pursue scholarly research,
contribute to publications and conferences, guide student research projects, and participate in departmental activities, curriculum development, and institutional committees. Collaboration with colleagues, engagement in outreach and accreditation processes, and support for co-curricular initiatives are important aspects of this position.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core Electrical Engineering, including fundamentals, circuit analysis, and applied engineering practice.
- Knowledge of Power Systems with the ability to teach and supervise work related to generation, transmission, distribution, and protection.
- Exposure to Computer Science concepts relevant to electrical engineering, such as programming, data analysis, and embedded systems.
- Understanding of Robotics and related areas, including control systems, automation, and mechatronics, for teaching and project guidance.
- Demonstrated Research skills, including problem formulation, experimental or analytical work, and dissemination through publications and conferences.
- Master’s degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution; Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is preferred or as per prevailing regulatory norms.
- Effective classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to teach diverse learners using modern pedagogical and assessment methods.
- Familiarity with relevant laboratory equipment, simulation tools, and software (e.g., MATLAB, PSIM, PSCAD, or similar platforms) is an advantage.
