Role Description As an Assistant Merchandiser at Talking Threads by Pearl Uppal, you will support the merchandising team in planning, sourcing, and managing bridal collections and related product lines. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with design and production teams, tracking inventory and sales performance, preparing merchandising reports, and assisting with pricing and assortment decisions. You will help ensure that products are presented effectively in-store, support retail and sales teams with product information, and contribute to visual merchandising and customer feedback analysis.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams in a studio and retail environment.

Core Technical & Design Capabilities

Pattern Making & Exact Customization: Exceptional skills in pattern drafting and garment construction,



with the proven ability to precisely replicate and customize exact pieces based on client-provided designs for the production team.

Design & NDPI Development: Strong background in design and developing new NDPI (New Product Development and Introduction), with a hands-on approach to creating and translating new concepts into production-ready garments.

Cross-Functional & Operational Skills

Communication & Coordination: Strong communication skills to clearly coordinate between design, production, sales teams, and customers.

Organization & Data Management: High attention to detail and organizational skills for managing assortments, inventory data, and reports.

Technical Proficiency: Comfort with data tracking and proficiency in basic MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Retail & Commercial Awareness

Customer Service & Retail Experience: Ability to support in-store teams, enhance the client experience, and understand brand-consistent messaging for marketing promotions.

Sales Acumen: Skills to understand product performance, assist with upselling opportunities, and support overall revenue goals.

Experience & Logistics

Industry Passion & Education: A keen interest in fashion, bridal couture, and luxury retail. A Diploma or degree in Fashion, Merchandising, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Prior Experience: Previous experience in fashion or apparel merchandising is a robust advantage.

Work Environment: Ability to work full-time on-site in Gurugram, collaborate with diverse teams in a studio and retail environment, and manage strict timelines in a fast-paced setting.
