MĀS Foods

Bengaluru

Job Location : Koramangala, Bangalore

This opportunity may not be the right fit if you’re looking for an office-based role focused on strategy and desk work. We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting close to the consumer, understanding them firsthand, and being actively involved in bringing ideas to life.

About MAS Foods

MAS Foods has been building South Indian food and beverage brands since 1970, starting with India's first instant Badam beverage mix. We are the drink mix of choice for caterers across South India, and we are now building the household side of the brand. Our core range today is Badam Drink Mix, Gulab Jamun Mix and Rose & Kesar Pista, sold across four channels: Wholesale, HoReCa, Supermarkets and Kirana.

Why this role exists

Tamil Nadu is our home market and our strongest one. We are the badam drink mix of choice for caterers across the state, and our mature markets — Madurai, Salem, Trichy and Coimbatore — carry the bulk of our sales. That position is now under direct competitive attack on trade margin, credit terms and consumer offers.

This role owns defending and growing that base, market by market and outlet by outlet. It is a feet-on-street job. You will be in wholesale markets, kirana stores and caterer kitchens most of the month.

What you will own

1. Trade activation across Tamil Nadu

Own the full activation calendar: CDU placement, danglers, posters, shelf strips, store name boards, lamp pole and outdoor branding, T-shirt and merchandise programmes, and secondary visibility. Named store lists, hard dates, and measured offtake against control stores — not just deployment counts.

2. Wholesale and retail market understanding

Run structured wholesale and retail surveys across your districts.

Size each market properly: outlet universe, category offtake, MAS share, competitor share. Maintain a live tracker on competitor MRP, landing price, trade margin, schemes and consumer offers.

3. Competitive defence

Competitors are buying trade with higher margins, consumer offers and credit. You will read those moves accurately in the field and build the counter — the right scheme, the right visibility, the right retailer relationship investment — with a commercial case behind it.

4. HoReCa and caterer engagement

Caterers are the backbone of the MAS franchise in Tamil Nadu. Build and run the caterer engagement programme across your markets: association contacts, caterer meets, sampling, and the relationships that keep MAS the default choice.

5. Store grading and deployment logic

Work with outlet-grade and sales data to decide which stores get which activity. Defend the choice. Marketing money follows sales contribution and execution readiness, not habit.

6. Working with the sales organisation

Partner daily with the TN2 and TN3 ASMs, Sales Officers and distributors. All four core markets are on an established distributor network — your job is depth and pull, not appointment.

First 90 days

- Days 1–30: Full immersion in the Market. Deliver a first-cut market understanding note per market,

including competitor pricing and margin position.
- Days 31–60: Build the quarter's activation plan with named outlets, dates, budget and control-store pairs.
- Days 61–90: Execute the first activation wave and report measured offtake impact by market.

What we are looking for

Must have

- 4–6 years in FMCG trade marketing, field marketing or a brand role with heavy trade exposure
- Real time on the ground — you have walked beats, worked wholesale markets, and can read a store
- Fluency in Tamil (spoken and written); working English
- Comfort with numbers: secondary sales, offtake, monthly run rate, PTR/PTD, trade margins, scheme costing, ROI
- Willingness to travel heavily across Tamil Nadu and work out of markets, not out of office
- Excel and PowerPoint at a working-professional standard

Valuable to have

- Food and beverage or drink mix category experience
- Existing wholesale or HoReCa relationships in South Tamil Nadu
- Experience running structured field surveys or market research
- POSM and vendor management experience
- MBA in Marketing (useful, not mandatory — market instinct matters more)

Who will not enjoy this role

Anyone looking for a purely digital, agency-managed or campaign-brief role. This job is built on field time.

What you get

- Direct reporting line to the VP – Brand & Growth, with real decision access to the CEO
- Ownership of MAS Foods' strongest and most contested markets
- A 55-year-old brand with deep trade and caterer equity to build on
- Exposure across the full marketing system — brand, packaging, NPD, trade, pricing and commercial planning
- A clear path to Marketing Manager for someone who moves markets and consumer
