Purpose/Objective

Engineer - Safety is responsible for managing the implementation of safety protocols at the operational level for all site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a safe work environment.

The role involves conducting safety inspections, reporting incidents, performing risk assessments, and providing safety training and support to employees and contractors on-site.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Implementation of Safety Protocols: Ensure the execution of safety protocols and adherence to organizational safety standards at the ground level for all site activities.

Conduct regular safety inspections to identify deviations, addressing issues immediately or escalating them to senior safety personnel as needed.

Risk Management and Mitigation: Perform daily risk assessments, such as Job Safety Analyses (JSA), for on-site tasks to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks effectively.

Ensure that hazard controls are adequately implemented and monitored, documenting observations for continuous improvement.

Incident Prevention and Response: Monitor and report incidents, unsafe conditions, and near-misses in office, maintaining detailed logs and providing data for root cause analysis.

Assist in incident investigations by collecting relevant information and supporting the development of corrective and preventive action plans.

Employee and Contractor Engagement: Engage with employees and contractors to promote safety practices through regular toolbox talks, briefings, and on-the-job guidance.

Ensure that contractors are compliant with safety requirements by monitoring their activities and providing feedback or assistance as required.





Employee Training and Skill Development: Facilitate safety training sessions for site personnel, focusing on task-specific hazards, life-saving safety rules (LSSR), and emergency response protocols.

Distribute and display safety awareness materials, such as posters, banners, and newsletters, to reinforce safe practices and procedures.

Safety Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain and update safety documentation, including daily inspection checklists, compliance reports, and training attendance records.

Use digital tools to report safety performance metrics and update site data in MIS systems, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science.

Advanced Diploma/ Post Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred.

Entry-level safety certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH).

Work Experience: 2-4 years of experience in operational safety, focusing on hazard control and compliance monitoring.

Practical experience in conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
