Job Overview:

- The incumbent provides support to Plant team by leading all Electrical, Instrumentation, maintenance and project activities in the plant.

- The role holder has to lead a team of engineers of various disciplines in planning, organizing and controlling Plant/Utility/Building maintenance, projects and engineering related activities within the plant to ensure that the plant meets engineering and production targets, while conforming to the EHSS expectations.

- The role holder is responsible for managing maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipments, in-house projects & drive lean manufacturing agenda for the site.

Key Responsibilities:

- To plan, schedule, implement, monitor and review maintenance of manufacturing assets to ensure reliability and availability of production assets at levels over 98%.

- Able to troubleshoot breakdowns, errors, malfunction of PLC, SCADA, DCS, Instrumentation etc

- Responsible for managing and maintaining critical equipment fit for purpose by complying to integrity management requirements for the plant assets.

- Implementation of engineering procedures to ensure full compliance Engineering standards and procedures.

- Lead and drive Lean Manufacturing/ Capex projects of the plant. Formulate and obtain approval for the maintenance budget for conducting Maintenance activities,

- Review, monitor and control the annual budget expenditures to agreed budget.

- Forecast requirements and arrange for replenishment of spares to ensure adequate spares availability, whilst keeping the inventory to an optimum level





- Train and refresh the engineering skills of engineering technicians to equip them for autonomous maintenance,

- To ensure full compliance to statutory obligations in the impact area,

- Assess need for up gradation and implement new projects/minor projects to meet business requirements.

- Ensure full compliance IATF, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and TPM requirements for the plant.

- Responsible for EHSS in Engineering (both people and equipment) activities and compliance Valvoline Cummins standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

- Good knowledge of plant maintenance, project management, planning, co-ordination, negotiations with sound commercial judgment and should be able to work well under pressure and with competing priorities.

- Should have experience in PCS7, PLC (SIEMENS preferred) related control system, PLC operated machines & ability to troubleshoot problems related to PLC logic & maintenance.

- Basic knowledge on statutory requirements like factories act, petroleum rules, electricity acts and rules

- Should have knowledge to read out PLC drawings, Program, Inputs & Outputs

- Should have experience in AC drives (ABB ACS550 preferred), its parameterization, configuration, troubleshooting,



controlling & its maintenance

- Should have knowledge of instrumentation such as Transmitters (Pressure, Temperature, Level, and Flow), Switches (Pressure, Flow, Level), Controllers (Temperature, PID), Control Valves.

- Familiar with the process of calibration of Load Cells & other weighing instruments.

- This position requires good people management skills and should be able to lead a team along with team of contractors.

- Experience in communicating and interfacing with all levels of the organization and external agencies / contacts including statutory bodies

- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple activities concurrently

- Computer literate

- Sound Knowledge of MS Office, specifically MS- Excel.

- Systematically breaks down complex problems to solve them. Must have good judgment and be able to make sound decisions under pressure.

- Partnership and Teamwork-Actively support Team activities and facilitates building team effectiveness between production and maintenance teams in the plant. Seeks out sources of knowledge and best practices for team development for building a learning culture. Must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Leadership-Ability to lead teams even where there is no line authority. Must have demonstrated good influencing skills.

- Creativity & Innovative-Should be open to new ideas and constantly strive to look for and adopt newer ways of doing things in a protected and efficient manner.

- Must have knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / TPM
