Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct planned, surprise, and cycle-count audits across retail outlets and warehouse locations in line with the approved audit schedule.
- Compare physical stock with system inventory records and investigate shortages, excess stock, and other variances.
- Track inventory shrinkage, pilferage, stock losses, and operational gaps, ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
- Review compliance with inventory-control procedures, SOPs, and established operational processes across stores.
- Audit inward and outward inventory movements, checking supporting documentation and ensuring system transactions are correctly recorded.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports covering findings, root causes, potential risks, and recommended corrective actions.
- Work with store and warehouse teams to investigate stock discrepancies and support timely resolution and recovery.
- Identify damaged, defective, expired, or otherwise non-saleable products and monitor the Return to Warehouse (RTW) process.
- Assess existing inventory-control procedures and recommend improvements that can increase stock accuracy and reduce operational losses.
- Monitor key inventory health indicators and support consistently high stock-accuracy levels across retail locations.
- Partner with Operations, Warehouse, Store, and other relevant teams to strengthen inventory controls and maintain audit compliance.
Ideal CandidateExperience
- Minimum
2 years of relevant experience in Inventory Audit, Retail Audit, Stock Control, Loss Prevention, or a related function.
- Experience within a
D2C retail, FMCG, lifestyle, consumer goods, or similar multi-location retail environment is required.
- Proven hands-on experience conducting scheduled, surprise, and cycle-count audits across retail stores and warehouses.
- Strong experience reconciling physical inventory with system records and investigating stock variances, shortages, and excesses.
- Practical experience monitoring shrinkage, pilferage, stock losses, and operational leakages and following through on corrective actions.
- Experience reviewing inward and outward stock transactions, supporting documentation, and corresponding system entries.
- Ability to produce structured audit reports that clearly document observations, root causes, risks, and recommended actions.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
, inventory reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis.
- Working knowledge of inventory management systems and stock-control processes.
- Understanding of inventory audit procedures, internal controls, and SOP compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- High level of integrity, accountability, documentation discipline, and ownership.
Communication & Mobility
- Valuable communication skills in
Hindi and English
, with the ability to work effectively with store personnel, warehouse teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel extensively, approximately
15–20 days per month
, across different store locations.
- Comfortable conducting audits during early mornings, late evenings, or overnight periods when operational requirements demand it.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in
Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration
, or a related discipline is preferred.
