Yash Lasertek India Pvt. Ltd. is a sheet metal manufacturing and engineering company specializing in laser cutting, bending, welding, fabrication, powder coating and assembly. Our products include fabricated base frames, canopies and enclosures for compressors and gensets, electrical cabinets, structural assemblies and portable light towers.

We are looking for an experienced Assembly Incharge who can take complete ownership of assembly operations and ensure products are assembled right the first time, within takt/production requirements and as per customer drawings and quality standards.

Role Overview The Assembly Incharge will be responsible for planning, supervising and controlling all assembly activities at the plant. The candidate must possess strong practical knowledge of fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, fitment and engineering drawings.

The role requires a hands-on shop-floor professional capable of identifying fitment and fabrication issues, coordinating corrective action, managing assembly manpower and ensuring that finished products are completed according to quality, cost and delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Assembly Operations
- Take complete responsibility for day-to-day assembly activities and output.
- Plan assembly schedules according to the production and dispatch plan.
- Allocate manpower and workstations according to daily priorities.
- Ensure all components, bought-out parts and hardware are available before starting assembly.
- Ensure correct fitment and assembly sequence as per drawings, BOMs and work instructions.
- Monitor assembly cycle time and eliminate unnecessary delays.
- Ensure completed assemblies are handed over to Quality/Dispatch according to schedule.

- Fabrication & Welding Knowledge

- Must have strong practical understanding of sheet metal fabrication and welding processes.
- Understand MIG/MAG/TIG welding, weld joints, welding symbols and fabrication sequences.
- Identify welding distortion, dimensional variation, improper fitment, misalignment and fabrication defects affecting assembly.
- Coordinate with fabrication and welding teams for immediate rectification of problems.
- Understand how welding sequence, tolerances and fabricated component accuracy affect final assembly.

- Engineering Drawing Interpretation

- Read and understand customer drawings,



fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and BOMs independently.
- Understand dimensions, tolerances, GD&T; basics, welding symbols and assembly instructions.
- Ensure the shop-floor team follows the latest approved drawing and revision.
- Identify drawing-related issues before they result in rework or rejection.

- Quality & First-Time-Right Assembly

- Ensure assembly is completed First Time Right with minimum rework.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy, alignment, fitment and workmanship standards.
- Conduct stage-wise checks during assembly rather than identifying problems only after completion.
- Work closely with Quality to resolve NCRs, customer complaints and recurring assembly defects.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for repetitive assembly problems and implement corrective actions.
- Drive reduction in rework, rejection and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

- Production & Delivery

- Ensure assembly output meets the daily, weekly and monthly production plan.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Fabrication, Welding, Powder Coating, Stores, Quality and Dispatch.
- Identify potential bottlenecks in advance and escalate them before they affect customer delivery.
- Support the plant objective of achieving 100% on-time delivery.

- Manpower & Contractor Management

- Manage assembly operators, fitters, welders, helpers and contractual manpower.
- Allocate manpower according to workload and skill requirements.
- Monitor individual and team productivity.
- Train operators in correct assembly methods, drawing interpretation and quality requirements.
- Maintain shop-floor discipline, attendance and accountability.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate training with HR/Plant Head.

- Material & Bought-Out Part Coordination

- Verify availability of all required components before assembly begins.
- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for shortages of fasteners, electrical/mechanical bought-outs, fabricated components and other assembly items.
- Prevent assembly lines from stopping due to avoidable material shortages.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of components to prevent damage or mix-ups.
- Ensure unused/excess material is correctly returned to Stores.

- Productivity & Cost Improvement

- Continuously improve assembly productivity and reduce assembly man-hours per product.
- Reduce rework, consumable usage,



unnecessary manpower and material wastage.
- Develop better jigs, fixtures, tools and assembly methods wherever required.
- Suggest design/process improvements that make products easier and faster to assemble.
- Track measurable cost savings generated through assembly improvements.

- Documentation

- Maintain assembly records, daily production reports, rejection/rework records and manpower productivity data.
- Ensure traceability of products and components wherever required.
- Maintain proper documentation of assembly instructions and process changes.

- Safety & 5S

- Ensure all assembly activities follow plant safety procedures.
- Ensure proper usage of PPE, tools, lifting equipment and fixtures.
- Maintain 5S and workplace organization within the assembly area.
- Identify unsafe practices and take immediate corrective action.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in safe working condition.

Candidate Profile

- B.E.

Mechanical

Engineering – Mandatory

- Minimum 6–10+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Previous experience as Assembly Incharge / Assembly Supervisor / Production Engineer / Assembly Engineer preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Welding and weld joints
- Mechanical assembly
- Structural fabrication
- Fitment and alignment
- Engineering drawings
- BOMs and assembly sequences
- Experience with products such as base frames, canopies, compressor/genset enclosures, fabricated structures, construction equipment or industrial machinery will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of ERP and production reporting is required.

Compensation CTC: ₹5.5 – ₹7.0 Lakhs per annum, depending upon experience, technical capability and previous performance.
