Role Description: ASD - Design Engineer - Trainee role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The trainee will assist in the design and development of Air suspension components, working closely with senior engineers to translate product requirements into robust engineering designs. Daily responsibilities include preparing and updating CAD models and drawings, supporting product design reviews, and coordinating with cross-functional teams such as production, quality,
and testing to ensure manufacturability and compliance with standards.
The role also involves performing basic engineering calculations, documenting design changes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in design processes and tools. The position offers hands-on exposure to the automotive components industry and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals in a structured training setting.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with practical understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and basic design calculations.
- Proficiency in Design Engineering and Product Design, including translating requirements into functional, manufacturable component designs.
- Hands-on experience or training in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo and A - CAD) for 2D drawings and 3D modeling.
- Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to automotive or industrial applications is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Attention to detail, ability to follow engineering standards, and strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment, with good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in the automotive components sector and willingness to learn and adapt to structured training and mentorship.
