What You’ll Be Doing (Position Summary):
The Application Developer is responsible for the detailed technical design and development of applications using various technology platforms. The role utilizes a solid understanding of business dynamics to conduct impact analysis and provide feedback on problems with recommended solutions. The Application Developer determines methods and approaches to projects,
transforming business requirements specifications into programming instructions, designing, coding, and testing programs.
In this role as part of production application support is accountable for ensuring the delivery, reliability, and ongoing operations of production applications and infrastructure. The role is responsible for incident and problem management, service continuity management, and the execution of operational standards and business requirements, including 24/7/365 on-call support for critical issues. The incumbent acts as the central point of contact for production issues and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to maintain service levels and operational excellence.
The role also plays a key part in the development and implementation of database management solutions, supporting the company’s backup plans. Considerable judgement and autonomy are exercised in day-to-day tasks, including data source analysis and negotiation with users regarding requirements.
How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):
Programming Skills:
- Develop, code, and test end-to-end stack of applications.
- Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including coding, testing, and debugging.
Systems Implementation:
- Participate in and conduct technical design, development, and integration of cross-functional, multiplatform application systems.
Troubleshooting and Technical Skills:
- Work closely with key business and technology partners to ensure business and client impact issues are well understood and addressed.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and information security standards and policies in application management.
- Provide technical guidance concerning business implications of application development projects.
- Act on production issues within supported applications and for cross-LOB applications utilizing shared services or infrastructure.
- Build, monitor, and report on alerting processes; identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and policy development.
- Liaise with development peers and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external partners/clients.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and departmental KPIs, and maintain effective communication and notifications with all stakeholders.
- Provide on-call support for critical production issues, including incident and problem management, and service continuity management.
- During on-call support, willing to work extra hours if needed.
Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, clients, vendors, and peers.
- Lead discussions, listen, and ask questions to ensure problems/issues are identified and resolved.
- Communicate detailed information in an impactful way, verbally and in writing.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Collaborates with peers inside and outside the work unit to identify, discuss, and resolve business issues related to application development.
- Interacts regularly with business partners, technology teams, and vendors to obtain and exchange information, clarify requirements, and resolve issues.
- Works closely with internal clients to ensure systems and processes supporting applications are operating effectively and efficiently.

Experience:
- 5+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
Must Have Skills:
- 3-5 years’ experience as an Application Developer/Support and Integration Specialist.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
- Proficient in databases (Oracle, PL/SQL), batch processing, TFS, Agile methodologies, Informatica, Azure Services, Databricks, Python, Scala, Github, DevOps and IDE usage with AI tools (Copilot). firewalls, FTP, and SFTP.
- Experience in application production support, logical thinking, organizational and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with creating, running, scheduling and maintaining Autosys Jobs , Data bricks pipelines
- Ability to manage relationships with technology and business partners.
- Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
Good to Have:
- Experience with Netezza, and SAS
- Preferable knowledge of Retail credit Warehousing concepts.
