Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated intern to gain practical experience in food testing, quality control, laboratory operations, and analytical instrumentation. The intern will assist laboratory personnel in sample preparation, routine food analysis, instrument operation, documentation, and laboratory maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving, labeling, and preparing food and raw-material samples for testing.
- Support routine physicochemical testing of food products, including:
- Moisture
- Ash
- pH
- Acidity
- Fat
- Protein
- Salt
- TSS/Brix
- Learn and assist with the operation of laboratory instruments such as:
- HPLC
- GC
- UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
- FTIR
- pH Meter
- Moisture Analyzer
- Texture Analyzer
- Assist in preparation of reagents, standards, and solutions under supervision.
- Learn basic instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, GLP, GMP, and safety procedures.
- Accurately record observations, test results, and laboratory data.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment and work areas.
- Support quality-control activities and preparation of laboratory reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow laboratory safety and hygiene requirements.

Eligibility
- Students pursuing B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Basic knowledge of chemistry and laboratory practices.
- Willingness to learn analytical instruments and food-testing techniques.
- Good observation, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry.
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments.
- MS Excel/Word knowledge.
- Valuable attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and responsibly in a laboratory environment.
Internship Outcome The intern will develop practical laboratory skills and gain hands-on exposure to food testing, analytical instrumentation, quality control, and professional laboratory practices.
