Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Coder (Fresher) role based in Chennai.

The Medical

Coder will review clinical documentation and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with official coding guidelines and client-specific requirements. Day-to-day tasks include validating medical records for completeness, ensuring compliance with payer and regulatory standards, and entering coded data into billing systems with attention to accuracy. The role involves working closely with senior coders and team leads to clarify documentation, resolve coding discrepancies,



and support timely claim submission.

The Medical

Coder will also participate in training sessions to enhance coding skills and stay updated on changes in coding rules and regulations.

Qualifications

- Knowledge of basic medical coding concepts and familiarity with standard coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS).
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical concepts relevant to coding.
- Ability to read and interpret physician notes, clinical documentation, and health records with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computers, data entry, and healthcare or billing software; comfort working with spreadsheets and documentation tools.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow guidelines and maintain accuracy under timelines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate professionally in a team environment.
- Completion of a medical coding or healthcare documentation course or certification program is highly preferred.
- Willingness to work on-site in Chennai and learn from experienced coding professionals in a structured training environment.
