Job Summary:
The Candidate is responsible for owing end to end production planning, capacity planning and delivery management for business. This role aligns production planning with business goals, customer demand and operational efficiency. They oversee planning and execution of daily, weekly and monthly production schedules to meet OTD targets and efficiency goals. This role also ensures Capacity planning (Machinery, Assembly), resource management along with compliance handling.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the formulation and execution of monthly, quarterly and annual production plans, based on demand forecasts, capacity.
- Monitor real-time progress of production operations and adjust schedules dynamically to accommodate breakdowns, priority changes or RM issues.
- Ensure accuracy of master data in SAP including BOMs, routings, work centers, lead times.
- Facilitate high-level S&OP; (Sales & Operations Planning) discussions, integrating cross-functional inputs into cohesive production planning strategies.
- Anticipate and address risks in production schedules due to material delays, equipment breakdowns or quality issues.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, WIP and FG; coordinate with SCM for timely material availability.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with SCM, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment on planning goals and issue resolution.
- Implement and maintain KPIs like OTD, FG Stock, Order Aging, Inventory turnover, Continual Improvement and Resource utilization.
- Lead daily and weekly review meetings with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to communicate production status and bottlenecks.
- Represent PPC function in leadership forums, audits (QMS/AS9100), customer reviews and strategic meetings.
- Support and drive digitalization initiatives, dashboards and automation projects in planning.
- Mentor and develop the PPC team including engineers, leads and managers, promoting a culture of ownership, accountability and data-driven decision-making.
- Lead digitalization and industry 4.0 efforts within PPC (Dashboards, real-time tracking).
Qualifications:
- BE Mechanical (Preference: MBA Operations)
- Experience - 10 Years and above
- Preferred experience - Aerospace industry
Skills:
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, MRP, capacity and materials planning at a strategic level.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to manage teams and lead cross-functional collaboration.
- Strategic thinking with solid operational execution and process optimization mindset.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, six-sigma, Industry 4.0 and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kanban, VSM, etc.).
- Exposure to QMS/AS9100 compliance and planning documentation requirements.
- Expert-level proficiency in SAP PP & MM modules and advanced planning tools.
- Strong business acumen and experience integrating planning decisions with commercial and operational strategy.
- Ability to lead change in a complex and dynamic manufacturing environment
