Role Description The Advocate will work full time on-site in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, supporting insolvency, restructuring, and related legal matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing petitions, applications, and agreements under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code and other relevant statutes; appearing before NCLT, High Courts, and other judicial or quasi-judicial authorities; and coordinating with insolvency professionals, financial advisors, and other stakeholders on resolution and liquidation processes.
The role involves conducting detailed legal research, preparing case notes, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring all actions comply with regulatory and professional standards.
The Advocate will also advise clients and internal teams on legal risks, assist in negotiations with creditors and other stakeholders, and contribute to developing robust legal strategies for complex matters.
Qualifications
- Strong legal research, drafting, and documentation skills, including experience preparing petitions, applications, and legal opinions.
- Knowledge of insolvency and bankruptcy law, corporate law, and related regulatory frameworks; prior exposure to NCLT or IBC matters preferred.
- Advocacy and litigation skills, including court appearances, case preparation, and effective representation before judicial and quasi-judicial bodies.
- Stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with insolvency professionals, clients, creditors, and regulators.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to support resolution planning, negotiation, and risk assessment in complex financial and legal situations.
- LLB degree from a recognized institution and valid enrollment with the Bar Council; additional specialization in corporate or insolvency law is an advantage.
- Ability to work in office in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, manage multiple matters simultaneously, and meet strict timelines with attention to detail.
