Reporting to -Accountant (Accounts Receivable Officer)
The Accounts Receivable Officer will take ownership of day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment allocation, reconciliations, debtor follow-up and reporting. This is a hands-on role for an organised finance professional who can work accurately in Xero, communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain high standards of confidentiality in a healthcare business.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records in Xero for Yooli and relevant group entities.
- Prepare and issue accurate invoices, credit notes, receipts and account statements in accordance with approved pricing and billing instructions.
- Record, allocate and reconcile customer and client payments against outstanding invoices, including payments received through banks and approved payment platforms.
- Monitor accounts receivable ageing, identify overdue balances and conduct professional, timely follow-up with customers, business clients and relevant internal teams.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied receipts, disputed invoices, refunds and account allocation issues, escalating matters that require approval.
- Complete regular bank, payment-platform and accounts receivable reconciliations and maintain clear supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including receivables reconciliations, ageing reports, revenue cut-off support and documentation for the accountant or external advisers.
- Maintain accurate customer and account information, ensuring changes are supported by appropriate records and approvals.
- Prepare routine receivables reports and provide information to management to support cash-flow monitoring and operational decision-making.
- Work closely with operations, customer support and the Australian offices to resolve billing queries and ensure a consistent customer experience.
- Protect confidential commercial, customer and healthcare-related information and follow Yooli's finance, privacy, security and record-keeping procedures.
- Perform other reasonable finance and administrative duties relevant to the role.
Required experience and qualifications
- A university or college degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- At least two years of practical accounts receivable, bookkeeping or finance operations experience.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience using Xero. Xero experience is mandatory for this role, including invoicing, payment allocation, bank reconciliation and accounts receivable reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to follow up outstanding balances professionally and clearly.
- High attention to detail,
robust numerical accuracy and the ability to identify inconsistencies in financial records.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet recurring daily, weekly and month-end deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in Hyderabad and the Australian offices.
Desirable experience
- Experience supporting an Australian business or working with Australian finance processes, including Australian GST and multi-currency transactions.
- Experience with Stripe, Square or other payment platforms, or with integrated booking, practice-management or customer-management systems.
- Experience working in healthcare, health technology, medical services, professional services or another regulated environment.
- Experience working with distributed or remote teams across India and Australia.
Working requirements This role requires reliable high-speed internet, a suitable computer, a secure and quiet workspace, and the ability to work during agreed Hyderabad hours with regular overlap with Australian business hours. The successful candidate must be able to maintain the confidentiality and security of Yooli's financial and business information while working remotely.
