Audit Executive – Role &

Responsibilities in a Jewellery Firm An Audit Executive in a jewellery firm is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, security, and compliance of jewellery stock, sales, purchases, cash, documentation, and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

- Stock Audit

- Conduct physical verification of gold, diamond, silver, and other jewellery stock.

- Reconcile physical stock with ERP/SAP/system records.

- Check SKU, barcode, weight, purity, and jewellery specifications.

- Identify shortages, excess stock, damaged items, and discrepancies.

- Sales &
- Billing Audit

- Verify jewellery invoices against actual items sold.

- Check gold/diamond rates, making charges, wastage, discounts, taxes, and final billing.

- Verify returns, exchanges, cancellations, and credit notes.

- Purchase Audit

- Verify purchase invoices from suppliers.

- Check quantity, gross/net weight, purity, stone weight, rates, and supporting documents.

- Ensure purchases are recorded correctly in the system.

- Cash &

- Payment Audit

- Verify daily cash collections and cash deposits.

- Reconcile cash, card, UPI, bank transfers, and other payment modes.

- Identify unusual or unauthorized transactions.

- Diamond &

- Precious Stone Audit

- Verify diamond/stone certificates and inventory records.

- Check carat weight, clarity, colour, cut, and certification details where applicable.

- Reconcile stone inventory with system records.

- Internal Control

- Monitor adherence to company policies and approval procedures.

- Check authorization for discounts, stock transfers, purchases, returns, and write-offs.

- Identify weaknesses in internal processes and recommend corrective actions.

- Showroom &

- Warehouse Audit





- Conduct regular audits of showrooms, counters, and warehouses.

- Check security procedures, stock movement registers, and transfer documents.

- Verify inter-branch stock transfers.

- Documentation &

- Compliance

- Ensure proper maintenance of invoices, vouchers, stock registers, and audit records.

- Support compliance with applicable accounting, taxation, and jewellery-industry regulations.

- Maintain audit working papers and discrepancy reports.

- Fraud &

- Risk Identification

- Identify suspicious transactions, stock manipulation, billing irregularities, and process violations.

- Investigate discrepancies and report significant findings to management.

- Recommend preventive controls.

- Reporting

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly audit reports.

- Highlight discrepancies and pending corrective actions.

- Follow up with concerned departments until issues are resolved.

Key Skills Required

- Jewellery stock and inventory knowledge

- Strong knowledge of Excel and ERP/SAP

- Understanding of accounting and reconciliation

- Knowledge of gold, diamond, and precious-stone measurements

- Analytical and observation skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Knowledge of internal audit and controls

- Integrity and confidentiality

- Valuable communication and reporting skills

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
