About the Role

We are looking for an experienced US Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time, permanent, remote basis. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise in US accounting standards and practices, along with proven proficiency in Zoho Books and the broader Zoho ecosystem. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with US accounting norms, and maintaining accurate financial records within Zoho Books.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting operations for US-based business transactions
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
- Prepare and maintain financial statements (P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with US GAAP
- Manage invoicing, billing, and payment processing through Zoho Books
- Ensure accurate sales tax calculations and filings as applicable to US operations
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Generate periodic financial reports and MIS for management review
- Coordinate with external CPAs/auditors for tax filings and audits
- Maintain and optimize workflows within Zoho Books and integrate with other Zoho apps (Zoho CRM, Zoho Inventory, Zoho Expense, etc.) as needed
- Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality of all financial records





Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- Proven experience in US accounting (US GAAP, sales tax, US financial reporting standards)
- Strong hands-on expertise in Zoho Books (mandatory); familiarity with other Zoho apps is a plus
- Solid understanding of accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes
- Prior experience working with US-based companies or clients is highly preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) — must be able to communicate confidently with US-based clients/stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup and manage deadlines effectively
- Comfortable working in US time zone overlap hours (as required)

Preferred (Good to Have)
- Zoho Books certification or equivalent training
- Experience with multi-currency transactions and international accounting
- Prior experience in an export/import or e-commerce business environment
