The Opportunity

As an Academic Counsellor, you will interact directly with prospective students and parents who are considering learning opportunities through Plectora. Your role will be to understand their academic goals and challenges, help them identify an appropriate learning solution, explain Plectora's offerings, and guide them towards enrolment.

You will be an important part of the student's first experience with Plectora, so empathy, communication, and the ability to build trust are essential.

What You’ll Do

- Connect with students and parents to understand their academic requirements, goals, and concerns.
- Assess their needs and suggest relevant courses, teachers, or learning solutions.
- Explain Plectora's programs and value proposition in a clear and engaging manner.
- Manage leads and conduct timely follow-ups through calls, WhatsApp, email, and other communication channels.
- Help prospective students move smoothly through the counselling and enrolment process.
- Respond to questions and concerns while building positive relationships with students and parents.
- Work with academic and operations teams to support a smooth onboarding experience.
- Keep lead information, conversations, follow-ups, and enrolment details updated.
- Work towards individual and team enrolment/conversion targets.
- Gather feedback from students and parents and communicate useful insights to the team.





Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree and preferably 0–3 years of experience in academic counselling, admissions, inside sales, education, or another customer-facing role.

You should be a strong communicator who listens carefully, understands people's needs, and can explain solutions confidently. The role involves regular conversations with students and parents, so comfort with phone-based communication and consistent follow-up is important.

You should also be proactive, target-oriented, organised, and comfortable working with digital tools such as WhatsApp, email, CRM systems, and other basic platforms. Most importantly, you should have a genuine interest in education and helping students make informed learning decisions.

It would be an advantage if you have:

- Previous experience with an edtech company, school, coaching institute, tutoring platform, or other education business.
- Experience in admissions, counselling, or consultative sales.
- Familiarity with CRM or lead-management platforms.
