Remote Legal Assistant / Paralegal — U.S. Law Firm Remote · Start: September 2026
We are a U.S. based law firm specializing in accessibility law, civil rights, and federal litigation. We are looking for a Remote Legal Assistant based in India to join our team.
What You Will Do
ADA Web Accessibility
Draft and organize pre-litigation demand letter packages for web accessibility matters under ADA Title III, the Unruh Civil Rights Act, and CIPA
Research and profile target establishments — including legal entity verification through California Secretary of State records
Validate website URLs and confirm active links for all targets prior to document production
Extract website files and technical data for accessibility review
Review user-generated accessibility evaluations of websites and summarize findings for legal use
Compile and organize technical exhibits including web scan reports, accessibility session logs, and network traffic analyses
Track and manage active demand packages across multiple defendants at different stages of negotiation
Public Records and Municipal Enforcement
Prepare and track California Public Records Act (CPRA) petitions submitted to California municipalities
Draft follow-up correspondence, deficiency notices, and demand letters when agencies fail to respond or produce incomplete records
Build and maintain case chronologies for each city, documenting every communication, production, and deadline
Update and reconcile case tracking records in Airtable against Gmail correspondence and document productions
ADA Physical Accessibility
Support documentation of physical ADA Title III accessibility matters for 30+ pending locations
Assist in organizing site information, preparing exhibits, and tracking compliance timelines
General Legal Support
Research U.S. legal authority and summarize findings clearly and accurately
Assist in drafting requests and responses
Prepare and submit filings and requests to U.S. federal and state agencies
Manage document review, document organization, and file tracking
Track deadlines and provide direct support
Use AI tools like Gemini and Claude for research and drafting, with verification
What We Need
Excellent written English, this is a hard filter, not a preference
Prior experience supporting U.S. law firms or legal process outsourcing work, strongly preferred
Familiarity with U.S. federal court processes or litigation workflows
Proficiency in airtable, Google Docs, and Google Drive
Real working knowledge of AI tools, including the ability to verify outputs, catch errors, and handle confidential information appropriately
AI is a core part of this role, not optional. We use structured AI workflows to produce high volume legal correspondence. What we need is someone who understands AI's limits as well as its uses:
Run structured prompts reliably and consistently across high-volume document production
Catch AI errors before they reach a document, including fabricated legal citations, incorrect amounts, and inconsistent details that repeat across packages
Verify every legal citation against a real source (google scholar) AI generated citations that do not exist in published reporters are a skilled liability
Distinguish an AI assisted draft from a personally reviewed work product
Handle confidential client and case information responsibly, knowing what does and does not go into a public AI tool
If you use AI only to generate text and submit it, this role is not for you. If you use AI to work faster and then apply real judgment to the output, we want to hear from you.
