SCM Planning Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking an execution-focused SCM Planning Executive/Specialist with 3 to 5 years of
experience to manage material planning, procurement, and supplier development for our
industrial valve portfolios. You will optimize inventory levels, lead vendor evaluations, and
improve supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Planning & Inventory Control
Plan and schedule material requirements for castings, forgings, and components
specific to industrial valves (e.g., gate, globe, ball, and check valves).
Run monthly and weekly Material Requirements Planning (MRP) cycles using ERP
systems to prevent production stockouts.
Monitor safety stock levels, analyse inventory velocity, and minimize dead stock.
2. Vendor Selection & Management
Source, evaluate, and onboard domestic and regional suppliers for valve components,
machining services, and special processes.
Vendor management for delivery, quality etc
Coordinate with Quality Assurance to execute initial supplier technical capability
checks.




3. Vendor Development & Risk Mitigation
Track supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including On-Time Delivery
(OTD), Quality PPM, and lead-time adherence.
Work closely with underperforming vendors to implement corrective actions (CAPA)
and resolve delivery bottlenecks.
Build localized alternate backup sources to eliminate single-vendor dependency on
critical valve parts.

Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
SCM certifications (APICS, CSCP) are an added advantage.
Experience: 12 years of proven experience in material planning, vendor
development and management specifically handling valves, castings, forgings, or
precision-machined parts.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic valve components, machining
tolerances, and general standards (e.g., API, ASME).
Software: Solid hands-on experience in ERP modules (SAP MM, Oracle) and MS
Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
