Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Backup & Storage Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in enterprise backup, storage management, and disaster recovery solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in managing backup infrastructures, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring data protection across hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support enterprise backup systems using Backup Tool Veeam, Druva and Rubrik, ensuring high availability and recovery capabilities.
- Implement and monitor backup schedules (daily incremental, weekly full, monthly full) and automated solutions to ensure efficient backup and restore processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup/restore issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring SLA compliance.
- Perform regular disaster recovery tests, validate backup integrity, and ensure business continuity.
- Provide L2 support for escalated incidents, collaborating with L3 engineers for root cause analysis and permanent fixes.
- Monitor backup jobs/logs, escalate failures, and perform restore operations for files, databases, and systems.
- Maintain and support IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and storage systems.
- Configure RAID levels (RAID 0, RAID 5, RAID 6) and monitor server performance.
- Manage storage environments (SAN, NAS, DAS) and protocols (NFS, CIFS, FTP, SMB).
- Perform storage capacity planning, create LUNs, manage access permissions, and coordinate with Dell/Quantum/HP support teams.
- Handle ServiceNow and Jira incidents, service requests, and changes; present in CAB meetings for approvals and execute changes as per plan.
- Plan and execute maintenance activities (version upgrades, network changes) with rollback strategies to avoid production impact.
- Create and maintain documentation for backup procedures, DR processes, and incident management.
- Collaborate with users and project teams via MS Teams,



email, and ticketing tools to address requirements and troubleshooting issues.

Required Skills & Expertise

- Strong knowledge of backup methodologies: full, incremental, differential.
- Expertise in data protection, VM/database backups, disaster recovery, and storage solutions.
- Proficiency in backup tools: Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, Commvault, Druva.
- Server virtualization tools: Hypervisor, VMware and Nutanix.
- Experience with cloud-based backup solutions (Azure and AWS) and hybrid storage environments.
- Veeam and Druva M365 backups (OneDrive, Email, SharePoint, Teams and Entra ID).
- Hands-on experience with Veeam backup scheduling and restoration.
- Solid understanding of storage architectures (NAS, SAN, DAS, cloud).
- Knowledge of storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, FTP, SMB).
- Familiarity with backup retention policies and storage optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware/software issues across enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Experience with ServiceNow for incident, request, and change management.

Qualifications

- 3-5 years of relevant experience in backup and storage engineering.
- Industry certifications (preferred):
- VMware Certified Skilled (VCP)
- Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
- Cloud Certification Azure and AWS.
- Rubrik/Commvault Certification
- EMC Proven Professional
- Dell/HP/NetApp Certification.
- Microsoft Azure/AWS backup certifications
