Roles and Responsibilities : Production Engineer
1. Production Planning and Execution

- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
- Coordinate with planning, stores, maintenance, and quality departments.
- Monitor production flow and eliminate bottlenecks.

2. Process Monitoring and Improvement

- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.

3. Quality Control

- Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work closely with the quality assurance team.

4. Machine and Equipment Management

- Monitor machine performance and utilization.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency.

5. Material Management

- Ensure raw materials are available for production.
- Monitor material consumption and reduce wastage.
- Improve material yield and inventory utilization.

6. Safety and Compliance





- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Promote protected working practices among operators.

7. Workforce Supervision

- Supervise production operators and technicians.
- Assign work and monitor employee performance.
- Train employees on work instructions, safety, and quality requirements.

8. Cost Control

- Reduce manufacturing costs by improving efficiency.
- Monitor labor, material, and energy consumption.
- Support cost reduction projects.

9. Documentation and Reporting

- Prepare daily production reports.
- Maintain production records, machine logs, and process documentation.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs).

10. Problem Solving

- Investigate production issues and root causes.
- Apply tools such as:
- 5 Why Analysis
- Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagram
- PDCA Cycle

- Implement effective corrective actions.
