Role Summary

Defines end-to-end infrastructure architecture — compute, storage, network, and cloud — for Aon's global technology estate, ensuring designs are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with enterprise technology strategy and standards worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop infrastructure architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps

• Evaluate and select infrastructure technologies and platforms across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments

• Lead design reviews and provide architectural governance across infrastructure projects

• Define non-functional requirements: availability, disaster recovery, performance, scalability, security

• Partner with security, network, and application architects to ensure end-to-end solution integrity

• Guide migration and modernization initiatives (data center exit, cloud migration, hybrid connectivity)

• Produce architecture decision records (ADRs) and maintain architecture documentation/standards

• Mentor infrastructure engineers and provide technical leadership on complex initiatives

Required Qualifications & Experience





• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant Master's a plus

• 10+ years in infrastructure engineering, with 3+ years in an architect-level role

• Certifications such as TOGAF, or AWS/Azure/GCP Solutions Architect, preferred

• Demonstrated experience architecting hybrid/multi-cloud environments at enterprise scale

Technical Skills

• Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF or equivalent)

• Compute, storage, and network architecture across on-premises and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)

• Virtualization (VMware), containers/Kubernetes, disaster recovery/business continuity design

• Security architecture fundamentals (zero trust, network segmentation, IAM)

• Capacity planning and performance engineering

• Architecture documentation and diagramming (e.g., ArchiMate, Visio, Lucidchart)
