About the Role n
ThatLifestyleCoach is looking for an experienced Performance Physiotherapist – Recovery & Longevity to join our team in Mumbai.
n
n
This is not a conventional clinic-based physiotherapy role.
n
n
The selected candidate will work closely with a private client as part of a broader performance and wellness ecosystem, with responsibility spanning musculoskeletal health, injury prevention, recovery, mobility, rehabilitation, physical readiness and recovery-facility management .
n
We are looking for someone who already has strong hands-on experience and can operate independently at a high professional standard while collaborating closely with a strength & conditioning and wider healthcare team.
n
n
This role is best suited to a physiotherapist who understands that the objective is not simply to treat pain, but to help maintain long-term physical capability, readiness and performance.
n
Key Responsibilities n
n
1.Clinical Physiotherapy & Musculoskeletal Management
The physiotherapist will be responsible for: n
n
- Conducting regular musculoskeletal assessments.
n
- Identifying mobility restrictions, asymmetries, pain patterns and signs of physical overload.
n
- Managing training-related aches, minor injuries and recurring musculoskeletal concerns.
n
- Delivering high-quality manual therapy, soft-tissue work, joint mobilisation and assisted mobility where appropriate.
n
- Developing and progressing rehabilitation and prehabilitation programmes.
n
- Tracking recovery and physical progress over time.
n
- Identifying when a concern requires escalation to a doctor or specialist.
n
- Maintaining appropriate clinical documentation and professional boundaries.
n
n
The candidate should already be comfortable independently assessing and managing musculoskeletal and sports-related cases.
n
2.Performance, Movement & Training Integration
n
n
The physiotherapist will work closely with the strength & conditioning team and should have a practical understanding of training.
n
Responsibilities include:
n
n
- Understanding the client's strength and conditioning programme.
n
- Identifying physical restrictions that may affect training quality or performance.
n
- Recommending appropriate exercise modifications where required.
n
- Supporting return-to-training following injury or discomfort.
n
- Developing mobility, activation, corrective exercise and pre-training routines.
n
- Supporting post-training recovery.
n
- Communicating relevant findings to the performance team.
n
- Helping reduce unnecessary interruption to training due to preventable physical issues.
n
n
The physiotherapist should be comfortable working as part of an integrated performance team rather than functioning in isolation.
n
n
3.Recovery & Physical Readiness
n
n
The role includes proactive management of the client's day-to-day physical readiness.
n
This may include:
n
n
- Muscular soreness
n
- Joint stiffness
n
- Training fatigue
n
- Travel-related stiffness
n
- Recovery following demanding sessions
n
- Mobility limitations
n
- Physical preparation before training
n
- Recovery around demanding professional schedules
n
n
Recovery strategies should be selected based on the individual's actual needs rather than applied as generic protocols.
n
n
4.Recovery Technology & Wellness Equipment
n
The private recovery facility includes a range of modern recovery and wellness technologies.
n
These may include:
n
n
- Cryotherapy
n
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
n
- Sauna
n
- Cold plunge / cold-water immersion
n
- Compression recovery systems
n
- Red-light / infrared therapy
n
- Percussion therapy
n
- Electrical stimulation and other recovery devices
n
n
The physiotherapist will be expected to:
n
n
- Understand appropriate use cases and basic contraindications.
n
- Facilitate or supervise safe use where required.
n
- Learn manufacturer-specific protocols.
n
- Understand frequency and integration of different recovery modalities.
n
- Apply professional judgement when deciding whether a modality is appropriate.
n
n
Previous experience within a high-performance, sports-recovery or longevity environment will be a significant advantage.
n
n
5.Recovery Facility & Equipment Oversight
n
This role also carries operational responsibility for ensuring the recovery facility remains ready for use.
n
Responsibilities include:
n
n
- Ensuring recovery equipment is functional and available.
n
- Conducting routine equipment checks.
n
- Maintaining appropriate hygiene and readiness standards.
n
- Maintaining servicing and preventive-maintenance schedules.
n
- Identifying equipment issues early.
n
- Coordinating with vendors and service technicians when required.
n
- Maintaining relevant maintenance and service records.
n
- Ensuring approved users understand appropriate equipment protocols.
n
n
The physiotherapist is not expected to personally repair specialised equipment, but will be expected to take ownership of ensuring issues are identified and appropriately resolved.
n
6.Supporting Approved Facility Users
n
The recovery facility may occasionally be used by other approved individuals when the primary client is unavailable or travelling.
n
The physiotherapist may therefore be required to:
n
n
- Orient approved users to relevant equipment.
n
- Explain appropriate usage and safety protocols.
n
- Supervise equipment where professional oversight is necessary.
n
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
n
- Ensure the facility remains organised and ready for subsequent use.
n
n
A high level of professionalism, discretion, communication and service orientation is essential.
n
n
7.Reporting & Coordination
n
The role will report to Ashwyn Barreto .
n
The physiotherapist will be expected to provide concise weekly reporting covering:
n
n
- Attendance / sessions completed
n
- Key interventions undertaken
n
- Current physical status
n
- Progress or changes observed
n
- Any pain, injury or emerging concern
n
- Recovery work completed
n
- Relevant equipment or facility issues
n
- Any matter requiring escalation or discussion
n
n
n
The physiotherapist may also coordinate with:
n
n
- Strength & conditioning coaches
n
- Doctors
n
- Nutrition professionals
n
- Other physiotherapists
n
- Recovery specialists
n
- Other relevant healthcare professionals
n
n
The objective is to maintain one coordinated performance and recovery system.
n
Minimum Requirements n
Candidates must have:
n
n
- BPT or MPT from a recognised institution.
n
- Valid professional registration where applicable.
n
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on physiotherapy experience.
n
- Strong experience in musculoskeletal and/or sports physiotherapy.
n
- Robust manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation skills.
n
- Practical understanding of strength training, movement and exercise prescription.
n
- Experience independently managing clients from assessment through rehabilitation and return to activity.
n
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
n
- High standards of professionalism and discretion.
n
- Willingness to work full-time in Mumbai.
n
n
n
This is not intended to be an entry-level role.
n
Strongly Preferred n
n
Preference will be given to candidates with:
n
n
- MPT in Sports or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
n
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
n
- Experience working with athletes, founders, executives or private clients.
n
- Experience within high-performance centres, sports organisations or premium wellness environments.
n
- Experience working alongside strength & conditioning coaches.
n
- Familiarity with cryotherapy, HBOT, cold immersion, sauna and other recovery technologies.
n
- Previous responsibility for a rehabilitation or recovery facility.
n
- Familiarity with recovery/readiness metrics and wearable data.
n
