Are you passionate about helping internationally qualified nurses build successful careers in New Zealand? New Zealand Skills Connect is growing, and we're looking for a dedicated Student Counselor to join our Kochi team.

About Us

We empower internationally qualified nurses (IQNs) to succeed in the New Zealand healthcare system through expert-led IQN training and OSCE preparation — fully aligned with NZ nursing standards and regulatory requirements. Our learners are globally based, and our mission is to help them transition confidently into the NZ healthcare workforce.

The Role

n

Based in our Kochi office with hybrid flexibility, you'll be the first point of contact for prospective and current nursing students — guiding them through program options, admission pathways, NZ student visa processes, and career planning as they work toward NZ registration.

What You'll Do

n

n
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions covering course selection, career pathways, and NZ student visa options
n
- Guide students through New Zealand student visa requirements, documentation, and application processes
n
- Respond to inquiries via email, phone, and online platforms
n
- Support students through enrollment in IQN and OSCE programs
n
- Liaise with relevant NZ immigration and regulatory bodies where required
n
- Deliver information sessions on NZ nursing pathways, visa options, and registration requirements
n
- Provide ongoing pastoral support throughout the student journey
n




- Collaborate with academic and administrative teams for a seamless learner experience
n
- Maintain accurate student interaction records in our CRM/student management system
n

What We're Looking For

n

✅ Tertiary qualification in counseling, education, psychology, social work, or a related field

n

✅ Demonstrated experience in student or career counseling

n

✅ Knowledge of New Zealand student visa programs and immigration pathways — experience as a visa counselor or education agent is a solid advantage

n

✅ Strong communication and customer service skills — empathetic, professional, and culturally sensitive

n

✅ Comfortable working with international learners across digital platforms

n

✅ Experience in healthcare or nursing education is highly beneficial

n

✅ Proficient with CRM/student management systems and online communication tools

n

✅ Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management skills
