Job Description – Dental Surgeon

Department: Dental
Reports To: Medical Superintendent / Department In-charge

Job Responsibilities
Examine, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment for dental and oral health conditions.
Conduct dental OPD consultations and provide preventive, restorative and basic dental care.
Perform routine dental procedures such as scaling, fillings, extractions and other minor procedures as per competency.
Assess patients and prepare appropriate treatment plans.
Educate patients regarding oral hygiene, dental care and preventive measures.
Maintain proper patient records, treatment details and follow-up information.
Identify cases requiring specialist treatment and refer them appropriately.
Ensure proper infection-control and sterilization practices in the dental department.
Maintain and handle dental instruments and equipment properly.
Ensure proper documentation of procedures and treatments provided.

Dental Camp Responsibilities
Participate in dental camps and community outreach programmes organized by the hospital.
Conduct dental screening and basic oral health examinations during camps.




Identify dental and oral health conditions requiring further treatment.
Provide basic dental treatment and preventive advice at camps, wherever feasible.
Educate the community on oral hygiene, brushing techniques, diet and prevention of dental diseases.
Maintain records of patients screened and treated during dental camps.
Coordinate with the hospital team for follow-up and referral of patients requiring further treatment.
Support awareness programmes on dental and oral health in schools, rural areas and communities.

Qualification
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) from a recognized institution.
Experience - 2 - 3 years
Valid registration with the State Dental Council / Dental Council of India as applicable.

Experience
Freshers may be considered.
Experience in Dental OPD and community dental camps will be preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
