VP – Sales, EdTech Career Programs
Location: Remote/Field | Engagement: Full-time / Retainer + Performance Incentive | Reports to: Founder/CEO
About the Role
We're hiring a VP – Sales to take full ownership of candidate enrollment revenue for our Career Launcher Programs (Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cloud/DevOps, Data & AI, QA, ERP/SAP/Web — each with Training-cum-Internship + PPO). You'll own the entire sales function end-to-end: process, team, numbers, and growth. This is a builder's role — you've done this before at another EdTech/training company and you're ready to do it again, this time with full ownership.
What You'll Do
- Own the complete sales process end-to-end — lead generation strategy, counseling/pitch framework, objection handling, closing, and post-enrollment handoff.
- Build the sales team from the ground up — hire, train, and manage counselors/closers, and put a scalable structure in place (targets, incentive design, review cadence, CRM discipline).
- Set and own revenue targets; report directly to the Founder/CEO on pipeline, conversion, and forecast.
- Design and continuously improve the sales playbook — pricing conversations, objection scripts, follow-up cadence — based on what actually converts.
- Open new sourcing channels — college/institute tie-ups, referral programs, digital lead sources — and decide where to invest team effort.
- Take full ownership of the number. If enrollment targets are missed, you're the one diagnosing why and fixing it — not waiting for direction.
What You Bring
- 15+ years in sales, with a significant portion in EdTech, coaching institutes, or training/certification course sales — selling directly to candidates/students.
- Proven experience building a sales team from scratch — not inheriting one — including hiring, training, and setting up process and incentive structures.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership — you've run the full funnel from lead generation through closing, not just managed people who did.
- Strong personal closing ability even at this seniority — you can still get on a call and close when it matters, and you lead by example, not just by dashboard.
- Track record of hitting/exceeding revenue targets as a sales leader, with real numbers you can speak to.
- Comfortable operating with high autonomy in a lean, founder-led company — no large existing infrastructure to lean on; you build it.
Compensation
Senior leadership package — base/retainer plus performance-linked incentive tied to team revenue. Structure discussed based on experience and track record.
What Success Looks Like in the First 6 Months
- A functioning sales team in place, hired and trained by you, running on a process you've built.
- A clear, repeatable sales playbook that's proven to convert.
- Enrollment revenue trending against target, with visibility into pipeline health and forecasting.
Robust Fit If You
- Have built a sales team from zero at least once before, ideally in EdTech or training/course sales.
- Think like an owner — you don't wait for a playbook, you build one.
- Are equally comfortable closing a deal yourself and coaching someone else to do it.
Not a Fit If You
- Your leadership experience is limited to managing a team someone else already built.
- You're looking for a role where lead generation, process, and team-building are handled for you.
- You need a fully fixed salary with no performance component.
