Job Description
Role & Responsibilities:
Develop and validate 1D gas-agile and acoustic simulation models for automotive exhaust and aftertreatment systems using Ricardo WAVE.
Predict and optimize Sound Pressure Level (SPL), Transmission Loss (TL), Insertion Loss (IL), exhaust backpressure, and pressure pulsations.
Model and analyze exhaust systems, mufflers, resonators, catalysts, DOC, DPF, and SCR systems.
Perform model calibration, debugging, validation, and correlation with test data.
Work closely with Design, CFD, Testing, and Vehicle NVH teams to support simulation-led product development.
Conduct acoustic and gas-dynamic performance optimization to meet vehicle NVH and performance targets.
Prepare simulation reports, technical recommendations, and customer presentations.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, Thermal, or related Engineering.
3+ years of experience in Acoustic CAE / 1D Simulation.
Hands-on experience with Ricardo WAVE / WaveBuild3D.
Robust knowledge of automotive exhaust systems, mufflers, resonators, and aftertreatment systems.
Experience in TL, IL, SPL, backpressure, and pressure pulsation analysis.
Valuable understanding of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Gas Dynamics, and Engine Fundamentals.
Experience in model validation and correlation with test data.
Automotive OEM/Tier-1 supplier experience preferred.
