Role & responsibilities
Solid orientation towards Safety (process, personal and lab), Data integrity, and compliance.
Process technology development using process intensification principles
Generation of experimental data at lab, bench and pilot scale
Exploits a deep knowledge of chemical technology, chemical processes & processing to deliver differentiated process technology for a given product.
Assessment of yield & quality of products working on and analyzing and planning for the process development
Complete mass and energy balance for the process
Conduct what if scenarios required for the process development using design tools like DOE.
Performing experimentation in the lab scale and generating the data required for the scale up.
Understanding the scale up requirements and plan accordingly Coordination with all the CFTs for any requirements
Basic knowledge on process intensification and flow technologies
Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to current complex technical challenges.
Works independently in supporting the implementation of new chemical processes using novel technologies
Competent in all unit operations such as filtration, drying, crystallization, distillation etc. and unit processes.
Understands the requirements and do all the specific calculation required and use process models to support, scale-up and sizing
Prepares BFD, engineering package for any current product.
Takes detailed account of the end-to-end solutions while devopling the process during lab and pilot trials
Extensive knowledge of Basis of Safety across the whole process, including hazard identification, risk assessment of all performance aspects, and incident investigation.
Conversant with best industry practices of scaling up of batch processes and unit operations.
Able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Proficient in Dynochem, Visimix, DoE (minitab/Design expert) and other simulation softwares etc (Optional).
Should undertake equipment mapping, process risk assessment, management of change prior to pilot trials
Preferred candidate profile
Graduate (B.E./B. Tech/Equivalent) in Chemical Engineering (3-4yrs)
Postgraduate in Chemical Engineering (2-3yrs)
Experience in Chemical/API industry/ specialty, performance chemicals, CRO
Especially in Process development, Process engineering, Scale up, Technical Services etc.
Process Technology Development for specialty chemicals or key intermediates.
