ob Description – VMC Operator

Position: VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Operator

Key Responsibilities:

Operate VMC machines to manufacture components as per production requirements.

Load and unload raw materials and finished components safely.

Perform machine setup, tool changing, and offset adjustments as required.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.

Conduct in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges.

Ensure components meet quality specifications and tolerances.

Monitor machine performance and report any abnormalities or breakdowns to supervisors.

Maintain production records, inspection reports, and machine logbooks.

Minimize machine downtime and support continuous improvement activities.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.

Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the machine and work area.

Support preventive maintenance activities and ensure proper machine care.





Achieve daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Reduce rejection, rework, and scrap through proper process control.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of VMC machine operations and CNC machining processes.

Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.;

Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality inspection methods.

Basic knowledge of CNC programs, tooling, and machine settings.

Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Qualification:

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, Turner, or related trade.

1–3 years of experience in VMC machine operation preferred.

Preferred Competencies:

Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi.

Understanding of machining parameters, cutting tools, and production processes.

Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
