Process Engineer

ResponsibilitiesDiscovery and Documentation

- Conduct interviews to collect prioritized VOC with executives and subject matter experts across asset management, wealth management, and client onboarding functions.

- Build as-is swim lane process maps covering actors, systems, handoffs, controls, decision points, and exception paths.

- Collect and reconcile existing procedures, system inventories, and prior project documentation against what practitioners describe.

- Capture regional, product, and business-unit variation explicitly rather than averaging it into a single view.

Analysis

- Apply LEAN methods to identify waste, rework loops, queue time, and non-value-added steps across the front-to-back flow.

- Run structured root cause analysis on the problems surfaced, using techniques such as 5 Whys, fishbone, and Pareto analysis. Distinguish symptoms from cause and support the distinction with evidence.

- Quantify impact: volumes, cycle time, touch counts, error and rework rates, and capacity implications.

- Maintain a prioritized pain-point inventory tied to root cause, business impact, and remediation effort.

AI-Enabled Delivery

- Use AI applications such as Claude in the daily work: synthesizing interview notes, drafting process narratives, stress-testing analysis, accelerating documentation, and preparing deliverable content.

- Apply judgment about where AI output is reliable and where it is not. Verify anything that reaches a client.

- Contribute to how the practice uses these tools, including prompt patterns and workflows that others can reuse.

Communication and Client Delivery

- Build executive-grade PowerPoint deliverables: structure the argument, design the exhibits, and produce material that goes to senior leadership without a rewrite.

- Present findings directly to client executives and hold your position when challenged.

- Facilitate or co-facilitate workshops and front-to-back walkthroughs across multiple locations and time zones.

- Socialize findings with stakeholders ahead of formal readouts so there are no surprises in the room.

Required Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with client onboarding: account opening, documentation, KYC and suitability requirements, funding, and the handoffs between front office, operations, and compliance.

- Strong working command of LEAN and demonstrated application of it to real operational processes, not classroom exposure.

- Proven root cause analysis skills with examples of problems you traced to cause and the evidence you used.

- Proficiency in process mapping software such as Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio, or Bizagi, with fluency in swim lane and BPMN conventions.

- Expert-level PowerPoint. You can build a full executive deck from a blank page: narrative structure, clean exhibits, and disciplined formatting.

- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups,

and the ability to build a defensible quantitative model of a process.

- Practical working experience with AI applications such as Claude, applied to analysis, documentation, or deliverable production.

- You are credible in front of senior stakeholders, direct in how you communicate, and comfortable being questioned.

- Able to work full time in the office, five days per week.

- Able to work across multiple time zones, including early morning and late evening meetings on a recurring basis.

- High attention to detail. Your maps are read by people who know the process better than you do.

Preferred Qualifications

- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.

- Consulting or internal transformation experience delivering to senior client stakeholders.

- Exposure to platforms common to the industry, such as portfolio management, CRM, custody, or onboarding workflow systems.

- Experience with process mining or workflow automation tooling.

- Familiarity with the regulatory setting governing wealth and asset management operations.
