Job Purpose

We are looking for a Quality Executive with experience in In-Process Quality and Surface Treatment, preferably from the Fasteners / Automotive Components industry, to ensure that surface treatment processes and finished fasteners meet internal, customer and applicable industry specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and control in-process quality at surface treatment operations such as plating, zinc coating, zinc flake, phosphate, black oxide, passivation and other applicable coatings.
- Inspect fasteners before, during and after surface treatment to ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings and quality standards.
- Check coating thickness, appearance, colour, adhesion, corrosion resistance and surface finish as per applicable requirements.
- Perform and maintain inspection using instruments such as coating thickness gauges, Vernier, Micrometer, visual inspection tools and other testing equipment.
- Monitor critical process parameters such as bath concentration, pH, temperature, chemical dosing, time and process sequence, in coordination with the process team.
- Verify surface preparation, cleaning, pickling, rinsing and coating processes to prevent quality defects.
- Identify and control defects such as uneven coating, peeling, blistering, stains, rust, discoloration, scratches, white rust and coating buildup.
- Ensure proper lot identification, traceability, segregation and rejection control throughout the surface-treatment process.
- Coordinate with production and surface-treatment suppliers to investigate quality problems and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and close NCR, 8D,



RCA and CAPA for recurring surface-treatment issues.
- Coordinate with external laboratories for salt spray test, coating thickness, adhesion, corrosion and other required tests.
- Maintain process inspection reports, test reports, rejection records and other quality documentation.
- Conduct periodic process audits and ensure compliance with control plans, SOPs, work instructions and inspection standards.
- Support customer complaints related to surface treatment and assist in root-cause analysis and corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements, wherever applicable.

Required Qualification & Skills

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–4 years of experience in In-Process Quality / Surface Treatment.
- Fasteners / Automotive Components experience preferred.
- Knowledge of plating, zinc coating, phosphate, black oxide, passivation and zinc-flake coating processes.
- Positive knowledge of coating thickness measurement, salt spray testing, adhesion and visual inspection.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Knowledge of 7 QC Tools, 8D, RCA, CAPA and basic problem-solving techniques.
- Good documentation, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with Production, Plating/Surface Treatment, Engineering and Supplier Quality teams.

Ideal Candidate

A detail-oriented Quality professional with hands-on experience in fastener surface-treatment processes and in-process inspection, capable of identifying coating defects, monitoring critical process parameters, coordinating corrective actions and ensuring consistent quality from surface preparation through final coated product inspection.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
