The Transport Supervisor is responsible for managing daily transportation operations for warehouse activities, ensuring the timely, protected, and cost-effective movement of goods and materials. The role includes commercial vehicle sourcing and arrangement, transport vendor coordination, vehicle deployment, driver supervision, route planning, and transport compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise day-to-day transportation operations for warehouse and logistics activities.
- Source and arrange commercial vehicles as per warehouse and dispatch requirements.
- Coordinate with vehicle owners, transporters, fleet operators, and logistics vendors to arrange suitable vehicles.
- Arrange vehicles based on vehicle type, capacity, route, availability, delivery schedule, and cost.
- Negotiate vehicle rates and transportation charges with vehicle owners and transport vendors.
- Maintain a reliable network of transporters and vehicle owners to ensure continuous vehicle availability.
- Arrange replacement/backup vehicles in case of breakdown, delays, or vehicle unavailability.
- Coordinate vehicle placement at the warehouse for loading and dispatch.
- Monitor vehicle movement, loading, dispatch, delivery schedules, and trip completion.
- Ensure vehicles are suitable for the type and quantity of goods being transported.
- Verify vehicle documents, permits, insurance, fitness certificates, and other required compliance documents.
- Coordinate with warehouse, dispatch, loading, and logistics teams to ensure timely vehicle placement.
- Monitor GPS/vehicle tracking systems and follow up on delays,



route deviations, or delivery issues.
- Handle vehicle breakdowns, accidents, delays, and other transport-related emergencies.
- Maintain records of vehicles, drivers, trips, freight rates, delivery status, and transportation expenses.
- Verify transporter bills, trip sheets, delivery documents, and supporting records.
- Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with safety and traffic regulations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transport reports for management.
- Identify opportunities to improve vehicle availability, route efficiency, vehicle utilization, and transportation costs.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in warehouse transport, logistics, fleet management, or commercial vehicle operations.
- Proven experience in commercial vehicle sourcing and vehicle arrangement is essential.
- Experience coordinating with transporters, vehicle owners, and logistics vendors.
- Experience arranging vehicles according to warehouse dispatch and delivery requirements.
- Good knowledge of commercial vehicle types, capacities, routes, and transportation operations.
- Good negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month

- Thrissur, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
