Brassland manufactures precision CNC brass components for customers across Europe and the US. Once a customer places an order, someone has to keep them informed — order received, in production, ready, shipped. That is this job. You are the customer's single point of contact from purchase order to delivery.
This is not a sales or marketing role. No cold calling, no lead generation, no quoting prices, no negotiating terms, no travel, no field work. Office-based, fixed shift.
What you will do
- Acknowledge every incoming PO within one working day and check it line by line against our order confirmation — part number, quantity, price, delivery date, Incoterm
- Send order confirmations and keep the customer updated at agreed intervals until dispatch
- Coordinate internally with production, quality and dispatch so your updates are accurate
- Inform the customer early when a delivery date will slip, with a revised date, before they have to ask
- Send pre-shipment documents and dispatch photos
- Share shipping details after dispatch — invoice, packing list, BL/AWB, certificate of origin, ETD/ETA
- Update customer supplier portals where applicable
- Log customer complaints, route them to quality, follow up until the customer has a written answer
- Maintain all order correspondence in our ERP
Requirements
- 3+ years in export documentation, order management, customer service or back-office coordination — experience with overseas customers essential
- Excellent written English. This is the most important requirement; the majority of the work is email.
- Organised enough to track a large number of open orders without any of them going quiet
- Working Excel
- Graduate, any discipline
Preferred
- Experience in an export house, freight forwarder or CHA office
- Familiarity with Incoterms and export documentation
- Exposure to engineering drawings or a manufacturing setting
