JOB PROFILE – TRANSPORT OFFICER
Department: Transport
Reports To: Principal / GM Administration
Job Purpose
To manage the school's complete transportation operations, ensuring safe, punctual, productive and well-coordinated bus services for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of all school buses, routes and bus stops.
- Plan and revise routes based on student admissions, withdrawals and address changes.
- Allocate students to appropriate buses and maintain updated bus-wise and route-wise lists.
- Supervise drivers and bus attendants, including attendance, deployment, discipline and performance.
- Ensure strict adherence to school transport safety procedures.
- Monitor student boarding and deboarding and ensure students are dropped only at authorised stops/persons.
- Monitor GPS tracking, route deviations, delays and unauthorised stoppages.
- Ensure regular bus inspection, servicing and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain vehicle-wise records of RC, Insurance, Fitness, Permit, PUC, Road Tax and other statutory documents and ensure timely renewals.
- Ensure availability and functionality of first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, emergency exits and other safety equipment.
- Coordinate transportation for school trips, excursions, events, examinations and special programmes.
- Handle transport-related parent queries and complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate with Accounts regarding transport users, fee-related information, new admissions and transport withdrawals.
- Manage transport changes arising from new admissions, withdrawals, change of address and change of bus stop.
- Handle transport emergencies including breakdowns, accidents, medical emergencies and route disruptions.
- Maintain transport records, registers, GPS reports, maintenance records and incident reports.
- Prepare regular Transport MIS covering routes, student strength, buses, drivers, attendants, complaints, breakdowns and compliance.
- Conduct regular safety briefings/training for drivers and attendants.
- Coordinate with Administration, Admissions, Accounts, Academic Team, Security, Front Office, parents and transport service providers.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of student transport information.

Qualification & Experience
- Graduate in any discipline; qualification in Transport Management/Administration will be an advantage.
- Preferably 4-5 years of experience in school transport, fleet management, logistics or administration.
- Strong coordination, communication, documentation, problem-solving and team-management skills.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, GPS systems and statutory transport requirements.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
