- - Obtain inputs from cross functional team, collaborates and consults with senior level designers to ensure holistic development and assessment of design concepts.
- Lead concept generation, concept selection, optimization, detailed design, to deliver product at design phase.
- Responsible for creating optimized mechanical design concepts and detailed specifications by applying engineering principles while considering application requirements, cost, weight, performance, DFM, DFA & DFS.
- Translate specifications to 3D solid models along with bill of material.
- Create Pugh Matrix and Cause and Effect (C&E;) Matrix as applicable and present in cross functional reviews to facilitate decision making.
- Supplier interactions as required for any manufacturing queries etc. including participating in Drawing Quality Review.
- Effectively communicates the capability of the design to meet cross functional requirements.
- Collaborates effectively across cross-functional teams throughout the product develop phase.
- Support cross functional design review.
- Product Problem solving – Participate in finding root cause of failure. Supporting investigations using tools. (DVA, 7-step problem solving)
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- - Qualification - B.E. Mechanical or Associated Branches
- Experience Range - 3 to 5 Years
- In depth knowledge of mechanical system design. (Engine & Genset)
- Robust fundamentals of casting & sheet metal components design & manufacturing.
- Good understanding of design tools - DFMEA, stack up calculations / Dimensional Variation Analysis & GD&T.;
- Basic understanding of Modal / structural / thermal / Flow analysis to interpret results and if required iterate the design to improve margins.
- Experience on Creo cabling will be an added advantage.
- Hands on experience with Ansys Workbench / Discovery will be an added advantage.
- CAD Proficiency: Pro/E – Creo.
- Expected Skill Level – Intermediate to Expert.
