Job Summary:
We need an experienced Production Designer to design and build modular cabinetry systems. You will turn client needs and architectural drawings into accurate, ready-to-manufacture production files. You must understand both aesthetic design and factory-level production workflows.
- Draft detailed 2D and 3D shop drawings using design software.
- Develop modular systems: Design flexible, scalable cabinet modules that fit different spaces.
- Review specifications: Check dimensions, materials, and hardware choices for accuracy.
- Solve problems: Fix design issues before production starts to avoid costly mistakes.
- Production & ManufacturingGenerate cut lists: Produce exact material cut lists and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining files.
- Support the factory: Work closely with machine operators and assemblers to ensure correct build quality.
- Control costs:
Choose efficient materials and methods to reduce waste and save time.
- Manage standards: Keep a library of standard modular parts updated for the team.
Requirements & QualificationsExperience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in modular cabinetry design and production.
- Software skills: Expert knowledge of CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or specialized cabinet software like Cabinet Vision or Microvellum).
- Technical knowledge: Deep understanding of woodworking, hardware types, edge banding, and CNC manufacturing.
- Communication skills: Ability to explain technical details clearly to clients and factory workers.
- Attention to detail: Strong focus on exact measurements and error-free work.
