Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Consult with the customer, review work orders and assess the tasks required
- Prepare work plans after scoping out issues
- Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret results to identify faults
- Inspect all related systems: suspension, steering, exhaust, brakes, transmissions, etc.
- Repair or replace defective parts (engine components, transmission, steering, braking systems, etc.)
- Perform preventive maintenance: regular servicing, oil changes, lubrication, inspections
- Test drive vehicles/equipment to verify correct repairs and performance
- Maintain records of parts used, completed work, service logs, inventory status
- Comply with safety procedures, industry regulations, and company policies
- Carry out field or on-site visits for breakdown repairs when needed
- Work with workshop software or maintenance management systems to log and schedule work
Qualifications & Skills Required Formal Qualifications and Licenses
- Trade qualification in diesel mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics, or equivalent (e.g. Certificate III in Engineering — Mobile Plant / Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic)
- Valid driver’s licence (manual or heavy vehicle preferred)
- White Card / Safety Induction (for worksites) where applicable
- Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one, desirable for some roles
Experience & Practical Skills
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines, heavy machinery, or vehicles (2–5+ years preferred)
- Proficiency in diagnostics, fault finding, and troubleshooting techniques
- Understanding of mechanical systems: engine, transmission, hydraulics, electrical, cooling, exhaust
- Experience using workshop tools, diagnostic software, and test equipment
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Good manual dexterity and physical ability to work in challenging conditions

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
