Experience
5–10 years in HR & Administration, preferably in a manufacturing/export-oriented organisation. Experience in Leather Goods, Garments, Footwear, Textile or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Manager – HR & Administration to manage the complete HR and administration functions of our leather goods manufacturing and exporting organisation.
The candidate will be responsible for manpower planning, recruitment, employee relations, attendance & payroll coordination, labour law compliance, factory administration, worker welfare, disciplinary matters, HR policies and statutory compliance.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in a factory/manufacturing environment, with the ability to manage both workmen and staff and effectively coordinate with Production, Finance, Merchandising, Stores and other departments.
Key Responsibilities1. Human Resources Management
- Manage the complete HR function for the factory and office.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and systems.
- Prepare manpower plans based on production requirements.
- Handle recruitment, selection, interviewing, onboarding and induction.
- Maintain employee personnel records and HR documentation.
- Manage employee performance appraisal and development processes.
- Identify training needs and coordinate training programmes.
- Develop employee engagement and retention initiatives.
2. Factory & Workforce Management
- Manage manpower deployment in coordination with Production and other departments.
- Monitor absenteeism, labour turnover and manpower productivity.
- Maintain discipline and ensure compliance with company rules and regulations.
- Handle worker grievances, disciplinary issues and employee relations.
- Coordinate with production management for manpower requirements.
- Maintain effective communication between management and employees/workmen.
3. Attendance, Payroll & Benefits
- Supervise attendance, leave and overtime management.
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing with Finance/Accounts.
- Ensure accurate salary, overtime, incentive and deduction calculations.
- Manage employee benefits and welfare schemes.
- Monitor attendance through biometric/attendance systems.
4. Statutory & Labour Law Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Handle PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, Shops & Establishments/Factories Act and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain statutory registers, records and employee documentation.
- Coordinate with labour authorities, inspectors and government departments when required.
- Ensure timely statutory filings and payments.
- Handle labour contractors and ensure compliance related to contract workers.
5. Administration
- Manage overall factory and office administration.
- Supervise security, housekeeping, canteen, transport and other administrative services.
- Manage company facilities, utilities and general administrative requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance and upkeep of office/factory premises.
- Implement security and access-control procedures.
- Support emergency preparedness, fire safety and workplace safety initiatives.
6. Social Compliance & Export Requirements
- Coordinate HR-related requirements for customer/social compliance audits, as applicable.
- Maintain employee and labour compliance records required for customer audits.
- Ensure compliance with customer codes of conduct and workplace standards.
- Coordinate internal and external social compliance audits.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions arising from audit observations.
7. Employee Welfare
- Ensure proper employee welfare facilities.
- Manage worker grievance and welfare programmes.
- Promote a safe, respectful and positive working environment.
- Organise employee engagement and welfare activities.
- Monitor workplace hygiene, sanitation and basic employee facilities.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate/Post Graduate in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Hands-on experience in handling factory workmen and staff.
- Good knowledge of PF, ESI, payroll, attendance, recruitment and employee relations.
- Experience in handling BSCI/SEDEX/SMETA or other social compliance audits will be an advantage.
- Good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Solid problem-solving and people-management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office/Excel and HRMS/ERP systems.
- Should be capable of working independently and managing a large workforce.
