Our Umbergaon facility (Unit II) runs modern tube-making operations — melting, casting, extrusion, drawing, annealing, finning and finishing — serving HVAC, medical gas pipeline, plumbing and industrial applications. About the Role

You will lead quality assurance for the plant — the QMS, process and product quality, audits, RCA/CAPA, supplier quality and customer complaints — ensuring copper tube consistently meets EN/ASTM and customer specifications. This is a senior, ownership role: you set the standards, close the loop on problems, lift supplier quality, and mentor the quality team. Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement and maintain QA procedures, QMS, SOPs, work instructions and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, EN/ASTM copper-tube standards, customer requirements and internal procedures.
- Oversee incoming, in-process and final inspection and effective quality checkpoints.
- Analyse defects, rejection, rework, scrap, process deviations and customer complaints.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis using 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D and Pareto.
- Develop, implement and monitor CAPA; ensure timely, effective closure of non-conformities.




- Plan and conduct internal audits; coordinate customer, supplier and certification audits.
- Own supplier quality — incoming-material issues, supplier performance and corrective actions.
- Own and resolve customer complaints, rejections and quality concerns for the unit.
- Monitor quality KPIs — rejection rate, FPY, customer complaints, rework, scrap and defect trends.
- Prepare and present daily/weekly/monthly quality reports/MIS to management.
- Drive continuous improvement — Lean, Six Sigma/Kaizen and process optimisation.
- Work with Production, Metallurgy, Engineering and Maintenance to prevent recurring issues.
- Guide and mentor quality engineers and inspectors; run quality-awareness training.

Educational Qualification

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Metallurgical Engineering or relevant discipline.

Experience

5–8 years in QA/QC in a manufacturing environment; copper/tube/non-ferrous or metal-processing experience preferred.
